Steve McQueen's Plaid Jacket

On the front cover of 'Hollywood And The Ivy Look'.  I know - of course I know - Frank Bullitt's jacket gets slobbered over, but I like that combination rather better.  Any information on this jacket?

Re: Steve McQueen's Plaid Jacket

Like you Andy I don't know how to do this tech stuff or I would link for you. But look at page 2 of The Ivy Inaniaty thread. In Hard Bop Hanks' latest post/disertation there is a similar jacket. Maybe liam or Oo or one of these other computer geeks could post them together for comparison.

Haha, that's great Woof, if not incredibly geeky. Which again is great to!

I'd kill for a rounded notch like on SM's lapel.

I'm sure that, had he lived, this is very much what SMQ would have looked like.

There is a real resemblance there. Of course you don't have that simian brow-line that McQueen had, which I'm sure you wish you had.

Amazing coincidence , "Blucher" asks about the jacket the same day "Woofboxer " gets one. Or... it boggles the mind.

George is quickly becoming my 'poster of the year'. You'll get a prize too, maybe a nice pair of socks.

That's a lovely jacket (as Johnny Simons would say).  It really is.

Re: Steve McQueen's Plaid Jacket

That's not far off, it usually goes, Oo get's to work, realises the part-time girl hasn't made up or pressed any of the dinner suits that are going out that day, Oo runs round to 50's Jazz, with steamer roaring, and iron set to 'Nylon' just incase anything decides to melt, or shine. He does this until red in the face. Goes on FNB, wastes time, only to then be panicked by the fact he left the iron on.

We did have a very Ivy clad American chap in today, must have been early 60's great beef-rolls, BD, perfect break, or lack of. Mixing it all in with our Italian sports jackets. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to photograph customers. You guys would've loved his look.
