Just took delivery of these in the hope they might have been made in Cali, seeing as they blurt out "60's Cali" every fucking sentence! Alas, its cost me a tenner to find out they're full of shit.

Come, let us slake our mandrakes together !

Re: A Sneaker Thread

I think Oo Bop dug around a few months back in an attempt to see if SeaVees had a real heritage and found not much of value/interest. If they were a brand that was part of that authentic 60's Cali style I think that side of it is long gone and has been replaced by poor quality clunky skate shoes being passed off as part of that look. Heritage Smeritage.

I can't think of any brands still being Cali made. Are there any? Vans used to have all the machinery out back of the shop and they made a shoe to your specs there and then. I guess that option might still be available somewhere over there. Maybe by Vans or some other like brand. Their Anaheim factory closed in the early 90's anyway and after that I think even the special editions/ limited run shoes were made overseas.

NB. I'm no Vans expert and any info above is just what I've pieced together online.

Haha. That'll be your wife's spot I imagine, when she leaves after hearing you just bought a pair of 50 year old gym shoes for 3 and a half grand.

Re: A Sneaker Thread

l would prefer a sneaker made with a leather sole and a goodyear welt and an all leather upper. A gunboat style sneaker. l would never buy a sneaker wiff a rubber sole glued on.

Re: A Sneaker Thread

I did wonder if the name was a custom thing, have several vintage Incontinence pants with the pinking too, look a lot like an Italia too. Shame you can't see the sole unit, that would help a little.

I've never really like Incontinence pants, I don't know what it is, maybe the obvious branding, I like a trainer to look unbranded really

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Re: A Sneaker Thread

So effectively they are selling the original product for a premium price - How long before they do the same with Jack Purcell's, which are now a nasty soulless all in one mould with as much character as a mondeo!
