Now that's what i like. So the question is, westcoast, mid to late sixties style, can we still call it ivy? Or is this now just popular sixties fashion?
Dear Sirs,
None of these fellows attended an Ivy League university and so, ipso facto, this is most definitely not what you call ivy and what those of us more informed call Trad or PITA. In reality the correct name for this style is Preppi, but I wouldn't expect any of you to know that because you are all clearly some sort of gang members on drugs. You probably think that ipso facto is an indigestion remedy.
Please do not disagree with me as you will be wrong.
And now I must go and light my pipe. I always enjoy a good strong puff at this hour.

Have to say i agree oli, my next choice being the llbean eastcoast look that andy seems to like. And the prep like 70's early 80's style. I'll always admire the 20's and the 50's too though. All branches of the same tree. I love it all but prefer certain parts when i'm lookin to just dress myself

Oliver, you mind divulging where you found these great Challengers pics?
My friend and Challengers bassist Randy Nauert's FB profile; there are hundreds more in color + b/w.
Well, tell him you came across someone he's definitely impacted musically, and sartorially. Those guys epitomized so much of what I love about music, and obviously, style. I was definitely born 40 years too late.
There's this great Rick Griffin strip somewhere where this real English looking cat with long Beatles hair and silly modded out Carnaby gear like The Kinks meets The Challengers looking neat and clean in button downs and chinos and runs across the street to get a hair cut haha!

With the Randyprene tips to the soles! Love it Oliver. I'll be doing as much as I can on Randy 720s for the sneaker thread but it's very hard to find any info. If you have any more photos or articles on them I'd love for you to post them on the sneaker thread.
There's a lot of photos from the above shoot...
More IVY crossover connection:
The Lighthouse Jazz Club in Hermosa Beach where former Stan Kenton bass guitarist, Howard Rumsey, held a tenure and was a key player in the West Coast jazz movement.
Bud Shank was in the house band, and also played music for the early Bruce Brown surf films.
- They even had their own shoes sponsored - 'Randy's Skateboarders' -

Too cool!!
That's a lovely shirt Woolster and looks to be in great condition.
Thanks. Yeah, it's in good condition woof. There were a couple of faint spots on the back of the shirt which luckily came right off after I treated them with some stain remover. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't, but that's vintage for you.
Wow. That is absolutely the prettiest shirt I've seen in a long long time.
White/off white/sand/khaki/brown/olive/dark green or denim would all work great with it too. Very versatile in the Summer.
If you don't mind me asking, did you find it on ebay or etsy?
Thanks Liam. It was on ebay, misspelt as 'Gant Huggen' in the description
