Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

They look nice.

Will there be a navy blazer with metal buttons in due course?

What's with the FB sign-in only deal. Is it not possible to have the page open for people to at least look at the stuff?

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Even sizes only is a bit of a pain but otherwise I can't fault them - they look great and 250 pounds for made in Britain is not too painful. Very tempting. I wonder how lightweight they are?

When are the all cotton ones appearing? I'd buy one without hesitation. Can you do me an all cotton suit please Mr H and J?

Should make a good IS article. On 1st impressions I must say they're the best hardcore ivy kit I've seen come out of the UK (exc. the obvious i.e. Shetlands, raincoats etc).

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Absolutely beautiful garments there.  Very clever bit with the union label.  Unfortunately the shoulders on the smallest size are quite a bit too wide for me.  Total Bumsville!  But I hope these end up in plenty of Talk Ivy closets.

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Truly excellent - like Yuca, some cotton options would be first on my list as got plenty of wool for now.

Those look great! I really like the first one. Like WM I am bummed that there are no smaller sizes.

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Getting back to business,  I'm getting the Grey Herringbone and Blue Flannel,  no more clothing purchases the rest of the summer now but I think it'll be worth it?

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

WorriedMan, I was a bit concerned about the shoulder width also (it reads closer to 39 imo) but it's difficult to judge without knowing what the construction's like. I have jackets that range from 16.75" - 17.75" shoulders yet fit identically otherwise; sometimes depending on the weight of the fabric or just the build of the garment. I'll post feedback on the fit as soon as it turns up.

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

To echo what's already been said, these are the best looking sportcoats that I've seen made today and I have no doubt that this project will soar; kudos to Chris and Lloyd!

Ha - it's the blue stripe that I'm most tempted by too. Very tempted. If Oliver, Woof and I ever attend the same dinner party it could be a disaster.

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

They do indeed look excellent - a shout out for the linings too! The retro label with the needle and thread is very similar to one on a 60s Sagner sack suit that I own. Cool all round.

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Oliver, point taken about the margin of error, but just from my own experience, I've never had a jacket with that shoulder width ever fit.  Look forward to your feedback however.

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Regarding the comments on shoulder sizing. I've just rechecked the shoulder measurement of the 38 brown herringbone which is the only 38 I have to hand at present. That is 17" but the brown herringbone does come up smaller than jackets in  the other materials. By the way there were only three of the grey/blue stripe jackets and I've got one in a 42 which runs true to size.
