Shoes?

As long as other posters are asking about reviews, here's mine: shoes. Are there any plans for bespoke makers, such as Vincent&Edgar, Ercolino, or E. Vogel?

Re: Shoes?

I got turned off to the custom shoe making world by vincent and edgar. The shoes that he made for me didnt fit right, had an indellible mark left on the upper by some vice and were shaped "uniquely" in the toe box. The shoe always pushes the nail of my left pinky toe upwards and the rear lining of the shoe and the bit that lines the edge of the heel upper became brittle and cracked.

Im looking forward to re-trying it with an English maker.

Re: Shoes?

Rather an enlightening post.

I have to say, however that I am somewhat keen to try Corthay of Paris.

Re: Shoes?

Marc,

Would you provide a rough price on Perry Ercolino's shoes?

Re: Shoes?

marc, greetings from Boston. Nice to see you have resumed your writing. If you would be kind enough to repost the photos that you originally posted at a site not worth mentioning of Raphael's works. I found it interesting and I am looking for some new ideas on upcoming commissions. I just picked up my latest pieces from Giovanni. Just the mention of the sad clowns name gets his blood boiling. By the way were you a raffle winner at his event?

Re: Shoes?

lt wasn't the Raph suits l was criticizing, it was only a comment about  your shoulder shape (then again, my bodies not perfect either). The suits were awesome! Same goes for the Raph suits Kai has....most beautiful suits l have ever seen. Hope that clears it up.

Re: Shoes?

Ronny,

Stop creating trouble. I saw photos of the suits too, which I thought looked pleasing in cut.

When you've set yourself up as some sort of bespoke God who craps 7-folds, then you should expect to cop some flack when posting pictures of yourself - Grayson seems smart enough to have learnt from his mistake.

I would like to see the suits too!

Come on, share with the rest of the class.

I shall commission a suit:

So let it Bespoken
So let it be done!

Re: Shoes?

Is it ok that I really like my Alden shell cordovan full strap slip-ons?  A homeless fellow came up from behind me on the street yesterday and complimented me, I think, on my shoes (which were recently polished).  He wanted to know how much I paid, which I thought initially was a rude question, but upon reflection was glad he noticed.  How much for bespoke shoes anyway?
