Thanks for digging those up, Tony. Love the pic with the tattersal vest - too bad it's not in color!

Re: E. Howard Hunt Dies

The New York Times Book Review published today a detailed article about E. Howard Hunt that draws on new interviews, a broader survey of Hunt's novels, and essays written about him by his contemporaries. Kind of a miniature literary biography:

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/18/books/review/Donadio.t.html?pagewanted=1&ref=books

The article is filled with interesting anecdotes, conjectures, and assessments of Hunt by Gore Vidal, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., William F. Buckley, and Norman Mailer.

Definitely worth a read.

Re: E. Howard Hunt Dies

What happened to old Huntster?  In the end, was he the kind of guy who couldn't keep it all together?  Or betrayed by forces outside his control?  At any rate, he seemed like the sort you wanted on your team.
