That's a bold watch ZJ.

MM, is that watch mechanical or quartz / battery?

Re: Ivy League watch for today...?

Until I get my digital camera malarkey sorted, he's some Seiko mod action for 'ya.....

This is the Black Bay homage:

http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php?255587-Black-Bay-Mod-me-likey!

You can pick the Tudor Black Bay up for around €2,800.00, the Seiko mod for around €200-250.00!

The 6105 mod:

You can pay several thousand US$ for an original, but get the 6309 modified to 6105 for agiain between €200-250.00.

Then there's of course the Eddie Platts, the Smiths version for 485GBP:

Re: Ivy League watch for today...?

Try it. Old watches normally should be serviced after a while because if the movement is dirty and running it can be easily damaged. But if the Timex runs, let it run...

Re: Ivy League watch for today...?

It is true that a lot of old watches, simply don't have the parts to refurbish them, so something goes you may be in trouble. But there's always work arounds i.e. new movements in the original cases.

Well, I've decided on my watches for the hols, both Seiko mods: the 6309 for that Martin Sheen calling in the Napalm look beside the pool and the Black Bay homage for the evening whilst sipping my exotic rumbullion cocktails waiting for a mission or call-sign for imminent daring-do, unlikely down at the kinderan disco or all-inclusive (local drinks only) restaurant buffet (themed).
