Re: Autumn/Winter Sports Coats.

Chaps,

What ho!

As promised, I would like to post some of my sports coats (these are actually all of them, embarrassingly) to show (i) different weights and kinds of tweed and (ii) set a counterpoint to the garish examples above. smile

The first and second jacket are from a relatively light-weight Holland & Sherry tweed; although light, they have a certain roughness / firmness to the surface, which I find rather attractive.  The coats are pretty new and came in handy in the last summer, which was a complete abomination in the UK.

The third jacket is a super-heavy tweed and "self-thrifted".  I call it self-thrifted as it is pretty old (10 years?) and heavily used during winter.  Real outerwear; no further jacket required, even in minus 20 degrees centigrade.  Kept its shape relatively well.

The fourth jacket is a medium-weight tweed with a softer finish and doubleplus self-thrifted as it is the first MTM jacket that I had ever ordered!  Must be 13 years by now (was 18 when I got it).  Unfortunately started losing shape a little, but still good for casual wear.

Enjoy.

Toodle-pip,
A.

^ Yes I did. Stitch sounds a clever idea.
