Half a dozen +. You will see some of my purchases here, Mr A.C. in various locations in the Netherlands:

http://www.classicshoesformen.com/content/your-results

The propreitor is Seven Minasian and he seems to spend his time between Germany and the USA sourcing the shoes. So the costs of the shoes are also supporting his missions to get the good stuff in the US. All my purchases have been satisfactory, as described and of superlative quality.

These are the ones I have pics of that are already uploaded on my photobucket.  Plenty more in my closet, for sale, or on Vintage Shoe Addicts' feet!

Re: The 1,800 euro Florsheim lmperial longwings - 1955 NOS (SPECIAL)

All of the above are 1950's.  The last pair being from very early 50's.  While they are a 1950's shape, the wide welt with contrasting stitch (HUGE in the 40's) of the 1940's is present.  A "transition shoe".

The brown Specs came next from that group (still handwelted).  Then the other 2 where what I believe to be a Goodyear Welt is sewn into the side of the upper.  I believe they wanted the appearance of that hand-done Goyser-style welt, but with the machine-made capability to mass-produce.

Finally the late 1950's (or very early 1960's) light tan Buffalo hide pair.  Also note the derby is tucked under the longwing.  I believe the uppers were still hand-done with these.  It is more difficult to line those 2 pieces of leather up correctly on a machine.  Note that the "Modern" version has no tuck-in and is a 100% machine made shoe.
