I suppose it depends on where you are or where you are headed.

The suede shirt has supplanted the leather bomber jacket and suede basball jacket, but they are all still options.

You can mix things. A pair of jeans and a nice golf shirt or a hip t-shirt from stall and dean or

I think the basic ingredient if you are in the USA and you are cutting loose is either jeans or even sweats. We are not a people of formal slacks for driving around in.

Jeans and a good quality 2 ply cashmere cable sweater with a crew neck.

Jeans and a high quality tee or creative designer tee and a suede shirt over that.

but jeans...

I still enjoy Boyer's earlier books but his Astaire offering had perhaps six photos with any usefulness at all, and less text.
