Alt Wien are made by Crockett and Jones and are about the same quality as their benchgrades. The main differences are the lasts and styles, sometimes the leathers, they have quite a large selection of cordovan shoes. The shoes are nice and the lasts are more Austrian and more rounded. IME they're about 10-25% more expensive than C&J benchgrades.

I really thought - like everybody else here in Vienna - that these are made in Austria... hahaha. But it makes perfectly sense, as those particular boots look like they were made on the same last a the Crockett & Jones Jodhpur boots... Very, very similar.

Original price was € 365,-- and I paid € 189,--. Pretty fair I guess smile

Much as I enjoyed the photos, I think you really need to add a nice shot of you, GW and OCBD in bed together.

How far, how far, O Sweet,
The past behind our feet
Lies in the even-glow!
Now, on the forward way,
Let us fold hands, and pray;
Alas, Time stays,-we go!

Re: A blog from someone not so "new"...

You've had more luck than me. I have a couple of pairs of H&M swimming togs that have done me proud. The other stuff (one crewneck sweater and 3 pairs of cotton trews) just fell to bits before their season ended. I thought I was onto a right winner with those trousers as well. Cloth and cut was good and they were only £25 a pop.
