Re: Inane Overdrive-Brave New World Edition, 2013 and Beyond

Rod the clothing expert over on Modculture WAYW thread, which BTW should be renamed WTFAYW had this to say about someones "rig".

Every individual item In your rig is a good looking item Steve, I just see a bit of a seasonal discord:

Jacket - seersucker gingham, nice combination of fabric and pattern for SUMMER

White OCBD - pretty much usable all year round. Matches jacket fine.

Dark tartan tie - 'dry' texture may be cotton which is a summer tie fabric but in dark green looks more winter-ish like those wool Christmas ties. A brighter patterned silk tie would have lifted the top half right into a summer look.

Square - again burgundy although providing a nice contrast to the jacket and a link to your shoe colour reminds me of sitting next to a hot fire with a glass of wine not stepping out on a sunny day!

Strides - I wear similar coloured dark / navy strides with my blue pincord jacket for a similar look. It's hard to tell, if they are lightweight sta press type cotton / polycotton or fresco wool they will be great but they may be heavy cotton twill which again says WINTER to me.

Shoes - I have similar shell brogues and I wear them in the winter with flannels and a donegal or herringbone tweed jacket. Clunky shoes like these are great but they mis-match with the lightweight summer jacket. Some burgundy loafers or suede derbies would have lightened up the outfit.

This from a man who wears Relco trousers, fused suits and jackets, H&M shirts, union jack shirts and sunglasses indoors. Fucking idiot.
No wonder I don't use the Mod word anymore...

That blog really does have it all, doesn't it?

I don't doubt his credentials one bit after flipping through the first 15 rigs..

Anyone remember Max Headroom?

The guy in that blog looks like Max Headroom's developmentally disabled brother.

Re: Inane Overdrive-Brave New World Edition, 2013 and Beyond

Remember what happened last time GW slagged off some mods (albeit from a different forum)? I'm still employing a bodyguard and all I did was agree with him.

At the risk of who knows what I will add that that guy (Rod) struck me some time ago as being the absolute worst on the mod forum thread he posts on. (He may well be a nice guy though.)

One man's meat I suppose . . .

The mod invasion was highly entertaining as I recall.

If anyone wants me by the way I'll be staying with my old friend Lord Lucan for the next month or so.

BTW what did the guy with the AK47 wear?

Ok, terrorists are terrorists, but should we exclude them/marginalize them because of that, when it comes to sartorial matters?

I am impressed, however, with that comb-over.
