I have to say, Americans take it to the next level with using convoluted language in order to sound intelligent, especially when they're just describing the obvious and mundane. I'd prefer if they just got a bit more poetic and less like legalese. Blurgh..

I've resisted all that shopping for the missus malarkey, let them roam free and get their own gear. Most women have an eye for the bargain, you can see this in their shopping patterns as they go round-and-round the aisles or from one boutique to another in search of the most cost effective, preferably in a sale, yet further reduced. They love it.

Truth. I will buy clothes for my wife as gifts on the appropriate occasions, and I mostly get it right, but we basically leave one another to our own devices when it comes to this kind of thing. Always much happier results that way.

I'm not even sure how to introduce this latest incarnation of lunacy on the old style forum we all know and love. There's an LOL in there, for sure. There's certainly got to be a WTF. Since the OP is an "advanced member," one can only assume he means it ironically when he posits that all of this will be useful. It does lead me to wonder, is there a surfer casual? If so, how does it differ from surfer ivy? Are there rules I should know about?
