Re: Tugboat Ties

Those colours look fabulous.

I'm glad you spent hours trawling and managed to find that real handloomed bleeding madras direct from source. These wouldn't be nearly as pretty if you had used some approximation of the cloth.

Good luck with it mate and I look forward to sporting one this Summer.

Re: Tugboat Ties

I have to say I'm not keen on using the bleeding after our discussion about them looking muddy quite quickly, which is preferred on a shirt, but not maybe so much a tie, so I'm going to offer both options. Because obviously people have a thing about bleeding.

Yep, I'm not sure about the bleeding either.... but we will see, I will probably make my decisions on which plaids are prettiest bleeding or not.

Re: Tugboat Ties

I used to joke with Claudio that the reason it was called, Bleeding Madras, is because it's bleedin' impossible to find. I was originally meant to do pocket squares, but it evolved into this over the last year, after i managed to get a good tie maker contact through work, and cloth source.

Re: Tugboat Ties

Count me in Boparooni. Been after a slim Madras tie and that looks just the ticket.

Congratulations Bop, and also to 12BB for the shirts (and to Chens and Mr Press for the jackets, plus anyone else who's producing clothing).

As indeed I do myself. Honoured by the name check & very happy to promote Tugboat here. It's all happening !

Re: Tugboat Ties

I'm interested in Chen's jacket project. If all the details are there then I would definitely be interested. I missed out on the JS brown herringbone jacket, the one that was either a suit or sold as separates. I buy vintage because I cant get what I want new, but I much prefer to buy new.

Sorry to take the thread off topic, it's just Yuca mentioned The Ivy sty jacket.
