Re: Ivy 'Classicism' ?

Although modernism as a movement was of a time, the subjects it deals with are always present in any time. Abstraction being a good example of this, it really was a way of dismantling the visual. Almost like quantum theory breaks down the physical world into it's component parts. I see modernism as on going, as long as it is still dealing with things in this way, if it's just becoming a pastiche of itself, then yes it is dead, and a throwback.

Actually I think Liam has a point about the manner of my saying it on here. So yes, no love lost but there you go.

Re: Ivy 'Classicism' ?

It was clear in the end that Andy needed help, but not the kind of Ivy natural soft shouldered sartorial counselling he would get on here.

I am going to get help myself tonight, starting with a light lager beer, then a heavier darker Belgium beer at a wopping 7.2% or above. Either that or rumbullion on the rocks. That´s the only help I need along with a mixture of Elvis in the 70s and the finest space age bachelor lounge exotica music recorded in stereo, either in Hawaii or Italy sometime around 1958-64.
