Elka make some nice ones, not cheap but very nice. I don't think they make one with the chest pocket though.

Have you tried a Gardening center or Builders merchants?

Gardening Centres and modern PPE suppliers won't be any good. Modern slickers aren't made from waxed cotton but are plastic.  Not the same at all. Guy Cotten make them... but they have a logo on.

You should try ebay and etsy and have a dig  around in the bits that offer sailing gear (can't recall what the section is called). I found mine by searching 'Foul Weather' which seemed to turn up a few pairs of yellow trouser and jacket/smock sets.

Like with all ebay sifting you will quickly get used to spotting the good stuff pretty quickly. It did take me a couple months of searching to find my smock but worth it.

It is worn in Spring and Summer for active stuff like walking, cycling or bouldering ( like rock climbing but for nut jobs). It's great for all that stuff and is as good as a lot of waterproof technical gear. ... except for breathability.

GAP has one, thought I don't know if the "Soft jersey knit lining" can be taken off.

Re: I'm looking for a rain jacket/coat

Think I'd rather order a taxi.

We use PVC slicker coats for outdoor work at, er, work. They come in a rather dull mid green (think Wellie boot) and a rather vivid orange (think bright orange). I have the orange one. Looks shit and I doubt if a breast pocket would help. If its warmish and raining you will sweat your nats off and they smell of plastic. But hey, don't let me put you off. I'm sure you can get them in bright yellow if you looked. Think their about 20 quid. From builders merchants.

^ ha ha, I recon I'd look way cooler than that fluffy hound. Only just though. Those Elka ones are a bit different from the PVC ones you're talking about GW, they're breathable for a start.

You stand out in a bright yellow slicker, that's for sure.  Unless you go to Princeton and everyone else has one.

Re: I'm looking for a rain jacket/coat

Damn!  Uhm.... I meant to say I'd never wear a green one either.  I think this displays how my previous post was in jest, at least partly.  I would have to start emptying out the closet if I really adhered to that rule.  But, I was just making a point on how that book, and the concomitant idolization of certain articles of clothing therein, have altered my perception of my own style.
