I have a couple of Parka jackets. I wear them during appropriate weather conditions. I have never considered them Ivy. Have I got it wrong? As well as my Parkas I have a couple of Gore Tex so called Tech. Jackets. Are these Ivy? I seem to be more Ivy than I realised. Is the brand important with this type of jacket? Where are the boundaries? May be I just don't get it?

This one looks good, pricey mind
Just spotted this, good range of sizes - says 70s, but did they styling change much?

BTW, yesterday I saw too hipsters in Norse Project Elkas... paired with rolled up selvedge Nudie Jeans (I like Nudie, but...), New Balance trainers (I also like NB, but...), hipster haircuts (you know, the kind of razored on the sides, longer and side parted on top but not in a classic kind of way, more the "underground" exaggerated version of it) and checked Button Downs (RRL? Gitman Vintage? Dunno...). The jackets look like good quality, but some kind of ridiculously "fisherman" in reality. Like as if you were going on a trip on a fisherboat but you are in the inner city of London, NY or - Vienna. Not my cuppa. I'd prefer 60/40 stuff... like Woolrich or Carhartt
Agree, just bagged some leather disks to make toggles for my 60/40 - just need some cotton cord now.

People can probably smell you coming in that thing.
Anyone stumbled across anything new and scintillatingly bodacious in this field since last discussed?
Thee Captain got a right good soaking lunchtime...to the point that I'm now at work in my vest n grunts.... nothing new of course...but out of absolute necessity this afternoon..
My Barbour's aside - too heavy really for this time of year - I don't think I've anything that really holds up under serious downpours that's of a lighter construction...?
I have a practical North Face hoodie but have gone off it a bit in recent years… and always found it a tad sweaty....
Yours,
Thee Captain,
Moist
W1
Would be nice T...but moolah heavy... I've always found... but then if it was on the money, probably more than worth it in a climate like ours... I shall go google...
Well, methinks you could do worse than my Penfield Gibson in Bright Yellow that I'm vainly trying to shift on the bay .....
But for thee authentic sea captain look - you need to dress like this .....

What could be more 'Ivy' than this:
