I'm not saying this isn't a nice look for some people, but it's not to my personal taste.  I'm a single breasted man through and through.  Doesn't fit into my personal Ivy framework.  The only allowance I make for double breast would maybe be a pea coat.

^ They would work best in seersucker.

^ It works best with the patch pockets. The cravat and white buttons are too "Leslie Phillips".

I think that is a smart model, much more easy of the British (or Italian) reefer model.
Is great with chinos, red or nantucket red slacks,or (why not) blue jeans.
Fantastic with regimental tie, even better with knitted tie.
Perfect with penny loafers.

Ivy is a vast archipelago with many islands.
We have the WASP old money and the University islands, the island of main street ivy (inhabited by the average Joe),the cool jazz  island, and a island of europeans cool hipster inspired by jazz musicians.
Every island have his ecosystem.
This blazer is part of the great scheme.

^ I agree as the "reefer" has too many buttons.

The lovely vintage pics that Carpu posted seem to have a very natural shoulder and would be something I wouldn't mind sporting. But the Caid pictures (bottom two) seem to have more pronounced roping on the shoulders that seem to make the jackets a mutation of two different styles without really mastering either.

I've always been impressed with Southwick. Can you get the brand anywhere in Britain?

If you want Caid you can contact Yuhei on 03-6685-1101, but his English is pretty much non-existent. If anyone seriously wants to order a suit from Caid, then PM me and I will set it up.

Re: The double breasted Ivy blazer-1956-1966.

Update:

RICHARD PRESS: "Double-breasted suits and blazers at J. Press were tailored in the natural-shoulder style of our three-button model that departed from the single breasted version only via deep side vents.
Double breasted suits and blazer of the era were undarted, and the Double Breasted body tracing followed the equivalent straight waist proportion of the Single Breasted model".

I don't believe I've ever stumbled across a vintage natural shoulder DB.

I'd love a DB suit, but there are so many horrors out there, and sizing varies wildly when you leave the classic American' fold.

Blazers less so. For a Keydge slack version I would make an exception.
