Re: WASP101 Gate

The reaction you'd like him to have ?

In reality he was laughing. Primarily at the internet and the people to be found there.

^ Thanks for confirming that "Richard" is Rep Bryan Holloway. Was he laughing when he denied it in the media?

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Re: WASP101 Gate

... And knowing why people care about all this might make sense of the importance of WASP101 to them. An importance that others really do not share.

/\  That was revealing, thank you.

So all these little Internet things are symbols of greater concerns of yours ?

No Jimmy. All these little things are great concerns for you. Look at how much you write on them. Online is much more important for you than anyone on the Wardrobe.

Re: WASP101 Gate

LOL !

But you may be right you know - Maybe all these little online things are all signs & portents. I did say it was a valid POV. But it does show that it's got very little to do with a clothing forum.

Elsewhere people on the Net like to talk about 'Slobs' a lot - But they're rarely talking about clothes, instead they are using clothing as a symbol of some greater malady in society. Same deal here I'd say.

You don't really care about the blog in question on this thread, instead you care about all the bigger issues you wrote about above and are projecting them onto WASP101.

As I say, it's interesting.

Re: WASP101 Gate

That's OK.

This is really common online - Those who feel the strongest about things are usually feeling strongly about something else other than the subject matter of the forum. Old Erkhardi (or somesuch) today was a nice example of that.

WAP101, my moderating style, flip flops - They're all an OUTRAGE.... But the outrage is in reality elsewhere. You, for instance, really care about politics, WASP101 is incidental.

Re: WASP101 Gate

... For fun, long ago, my chums and I used to fool with a Gardening forum - There was one of the usual wars on that we're always having and so when discussing hanging baskets we started to sneak in support for red white and blue floral displays - 'You know why'. Well, dear me, that attracted some interest I can tell you.
Suddenly everybody's baskets were deeply political.

True story.

But the sex forums were probably the best, with endless tales of how 'liberating' really horrid crap was. Everybody would then vie to be even more 'liberated' in return.

Online, innit  ?

Re: WASP101 Gate

I still don't get Richard's mindset. Everyone is clearly laughing at him, not with him. You see, most people have interpreted his taking down of WASP101 as the ultimate sign of defeat and cowardness. At least from the perspective of him being a politician and no longer the anonymous blogging everyman.

We have yet to understand his great scheme behind all of this, and the unveiling of the great masterplan that will suddenly bring his little out maneuvre of Chenners into perspective and at the moment of absolute clarity, events on the field of attrition will have reversed and Chensvold will find himself caught in a trap.

We await with bated breath.

Re: WASP101 Gate

Of course, the concept of the anonymous blogging everyman is now gone forever, as we realise everything we do/have done on the internet is stored and filed, waiting for that moment when you step out of line.

Re: WASP101 Gate

There is also still the 'Sting' theory...

There was no fashion blog, just a sting to expose how nasty the Net was.

And I think we have indeed seen some nastiness over this.

I have a certain confidence that Richard's hands are clean of the sin of bloggery.  Now if somebody else was running the sting and the results of said sting were for Richard to use to make a  point when the time was right for him...

I also would advise a certain distrust of the source used by Mr. Chensvold in the supposed 'unveiling' of Richard. Mr. Chensvold will listen to anyone if he likes what he hears.

Which was how Chens started blogging on Ivy anyway.

Shalom.
