Strange Goings On In The Blogosphere

http://unimpeachabletaste.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/bombshell-identity-of-wasp-101-blogger.html

It seems Chens has unmasked the blogger Wasp 101 as a being a minor politician in the North Carolina House of Representatives, causing sufficient excitement amongst the Ivy Style readership to generate 198 comments in 26 hours. Wasp 101 has been taken down.

Re: Strange Goings On In The Blogosphere

I don't know much about American Politics, is this Wasp 101 chap the equivalent of some type of back-bencher or something?

This Ivy internet thing seems to have a few ego's blowing about doesn't it? Not crediting sources, people pretending to be something there not...theres more to internet Ivy than just clothes.

Strange days indeed.

He seems to be trying to up the traffic to his Huff Post feed, by being a bit of a dick.

Re: Strange Goings On In The Blogosphere

It would appear Chenners  new self righteous piece, besides contradicting himself, has made himself a target of a more than few of WASP 101's supporters, and others.  It is obvious he has deleted comments and Chenners is now on the outer with more than the New York fashion glitterati.  I am still in the dark Chenners attacked WASP 101 so severely.  It was always tongue-in-cheek and Chenner's article attacks his background, which is still better than Chenner's given Richard has a successful career and family. Perhaps it is jealousy.  Vale WASP 101 you will be missed.

Re: Strange Goings On In The Blogosphere

Chens knows he's really exposed as a creep here...

- But let's admire how he pulls this one back from the brink... When & if he does...

The score so far is that he's just a big wrong freak.

Most unfortunate.

Shoulda stayda 'Dandy' ?

Nothing to do with Ivy, my friend.

This is all about an online freak.

Re: Strange Goings On In The Blogosphere

Talking about strange goings on in the blog world, I was on Chenners site on Friday night catching up the latest on WASP101/BrooksGate and hit one of the links in the comment section and I was immediately hit by the Trojan Ransom virus. Although it appeared to come from the link, I think it came from an email, as this is in Dutch and has been found to emanate from some weird hobbyist in their bedroom somewhere in Belgium.

This is a particularly nasty virus: it takes over your computer takes a photograph through your webcam and then posts this along with your IP address it what appears to be an official police document with various interpol agencies listed and then it accuses you of visiting child porn sites and has thumbnails of child porn beneath the photograph. Your computer is then locked, when you read the document further, it says you must pay 100 Euros via some Paypal alternative within 72 hours or they will disseminate the document to the world (all your email connections) and the police. Obviously a scam! But quite unnerving to see your photograph and computer locked in these circumstances, almost Kafkaesque in the fear of being linked to something so abhorrent that you are not engaged with, momentarily you see family, career everything going down the pan.

I immediately rang the police and my IT people and this virus is well known in a previous incarnation, but appears to be making an unsavory come back. The police gave me a web address that detailed all the information about this virus, but my laptop is basically blocked until the IT can deal with it, but unfortunately this virus has tendancy to erase and in some cases trash your hard drive completely.

Aye, I've left it to our IT chaps to sort out and taken the 5th. Such a vicious and dastardly virus requires professional input IMO.

So far, all they have on me is frequent visits to Film Noir Buff, Ivy Style and late night explorations into the outer limits of ebay and Esty for Rooster ties!

It does go to show the depravity of the net, what with this, and amateur gentlemen bloggers being ruthlessly exposed, I am forced to reappraise its worth.
