^ now that's a mouth-watering spread Oliver, their herring is wonderful.
Damn shame R&D don't ship overseas to non-US military addresses.

Alaska may be the last place to get a 'bloater' in the USA, it had a regional exemption when the ban was brought in.

Not sure about the last few months though I can't see any good reason for it. The food's always been consistently great at Minetta. What do you mean the convenience, Stan?

My sister lives in E. Williamsburg, Acton. I always go for the lunch burger special at Peter Luger's when I visit... and Polish food in Greenpoint!

I never get why suckers would line up at The Shake Shack for 40 minutes when you can catch the M on W 23rd and be in the Village 10 mins later eating that!

Those potatoes are the greatest... and speaking of bacon, theirs with beefsteak tomatoes and onions drizzled in Luger sauce is out of this world! I can make a meal out of those two apps and a side of creamed spinach. Their lunch burger with thin fried onion rings is the best deal in town though.

Re: The Ivy Sandwich ...

the fancy burger they serve there now is a new-fangled thang, back in the old days it was just a regular burger on an English muffin, now it's been gentrified but its makeover is recent, to me .....

Minetta did not used to be all that .....

I liked the plain old coffee shop cheeseburger at Joe, Jr.'s on Sixth Ave. and also I used to run out late at night and pick up a cheeseburger at the Corner Bistro .....

this is years ago already though but I will soon be back on the NYC scene with much more frequency .....

in Williamsburg my favorite place by far was the little dining area in the back of the now-closed Matamoros Puebla grocery store ... for tacos al pastor and Jarritos Tamarindo SODA  POP......

Re: The Ivy Sandwich ...

I actually really like Shake Shack btw, and I HATE fancy yuppie burgers with gourmet truffle aioli blue cheese toppings... Shake Shack is great and I've eaten there before when there wasn't a queue, but I'd take a burger at Minetta any day!
