I'm very happy with my Velva Sheen. A nice fit, good quality, and not too expensive for a made in US sweat when bought in the sales. My only gripe is the somewhat too loose neckline.

I've been oohing & aahing over the Velva Sheen for some time now Woolie...and I've a beast of a neck so may well suit me he he...

Where did you buy from out of interest?

They were -25% in the Bureau sale. I got the navy one. Very nice, but if you're in between sizes you might want to consider sizing up.

I'm kind of liking the shawl collar too:

Re: Sportswear

Props to Acton Baby for his recommendation months ago of Goodwear, which I ordered some USA-made cotton real deal stuff from yesterday.  Also ordered some good stuff today from USA-Wear (as recommended here by Jesmond years ago), inspired by this thread.  Will report back when the t-shirts arrive.

Don't be jealous WM, you know we tight, and it goes without saying that your stuff is dynomite ... with a few exceptions including that belt and the tighty whiteys.  Boxers, son, boxers.  Or at least boxer briefs.  Anyway, you're down with the loafers and suit concept too, my mind is a steel trap, I forget nothing.

I too have been enjoying my O'Connell's chinos (olive) and I would also wear that funky Enro brown seersucker deal you busted out.

Liam, keep slammin' that Oakland funk:

I know we tight Stanshall.  Even though I know you can never forgive my ranger belt, I aim to please.

Looking forward to it (heavyweight jacquard tee with red/blue striped ribbing at neck and sleeves) a lot, if it's good I'll order several more, thanks again.

New block striped tees from Leith Clothing. Made in England from 100% American ring spun combed cotton, priced at 30 pounds each. The shirts look fantastic, and I can't help but thinking Liam would have loved these.

You're right about Liam, Ville. We exchanged many PMs about these shirts. He would send me ebay alerts usually starting with "Woot, Woot look what I found..."

The shirts look nice, but I don't know about the price. Fitzgeralds Closet talks about 30 pounds like it's a good deal. With the shipping it would be over $70. for me. Maybe if they go on sale.

Re: Sportswear

Well they are not super cheap, but I'd say they are fairly priced (especially if you're based in the UK), when compared to the likes of Sunspel, Velva Sheen, Real McCoys etc. Anyway, not many options out there for the style.
Here's a vintage one from Campus:

I don't have one yet, Sancho, but they fit quite slim. There's a size chart on the website.

I've managed to keep it out of my head for the last few years, because knowing that such beautiful is out there but at such unrealistic prices makes me mournful.

Thanks Woolster.
