Re: Tech Ivy

Great work, WM. An awful lot of v-neck jumpers in these photos, something I've not noticed much in photos from around this sort of time.

Love the fit of the sportcoat and flannels of the guy on the roof on the far right side. Probably too tapered for some...

Re: Tech Ivy

The WM and Stan combination is a delight and this thread is truly wonderful thanks Guys.

Controversial point and probably not welcomed by the aforementioned members as they don't like to get
involved in all the BS.

Isn't it quite ironic that the Dogma of this place for so many years was to deny the campus
origins and connections of the look?
Yet now  here we are all drooling over this fine archive.

love to all.

Re: Tech Ivy

wrapping up 1967 Blue Print:

... goofing around an old dilapidated house, I see Techmen sporting dark-on-dark melton and leather varsity jacket, v-neck sweaters, wheat jeans, Weejuns, plaid shirt, windbreaker, a sleeveless v-neck sweater, a C-shaped brass belt buckle, great dark chinos .....

.... group shot of the Pikes of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity in front of their impressive brick house reveals the popularity of the short-sleeved sweatshirt with these brothers ... a jalopy they're working on for the Ramblin' Wreck parade is visible at the left ....  they're having fun and smiling ... good hair on these guys ... jeans and sneakers, v-neck sweaters, cardigans, dark plain-collared short-sleeve shirt, white ocbds, pens in pockets ....

.... pair of Pi Kappa Alphas in extreme highwater pants ... at left holding wooden racquet is guy in white oxford cloth buttondown shirt and Weejuns, white t-shirt too, narrow-cut slash-pocket slacks, white socks .... to the right we see his pal in a plaid short-sleeved buttondown shirt, pale jeans, dark socks, Weejuns ....

.... big group shot features a smorgasbord at which can be seen golf clubs, repp ties, blazer, floppy white sailor's cap à la Gilligan, v-neck sweaters, cardigans, at right in golf-style windbreaker is a guy about to drive a golf ball off his buddy's mouth, which is being used as a tee ... couple of Sigma Chi frat shirts ... still a lot of nice sport coats, shirts and ties ... but the look is becoming perceptibly more casual .....

...  great happy group shot of guys and gals with their Tech beer steins held aloft in a giant toast ....

... hungover looking kid is a bit bleary but his crisp white shirt with good collar roll, diamond-patterned foulard tie, and blazer are all good .... blazer collar is glued to his neck

.... freshman in welted seam 3/2 sport coat with v-neck sweater, repp tie, and white ocbd ... sleeves on sport coat are a bit long but what do you want from the kid ... shoulders are Ivy ideals ....

...  we have seen this haughty blonde gal before ... her figure is outstanding ....

... at the drafting table with ruler and triangle is fellow concentrating intensely on a project ... he wears a buttondown collar shirt with locker loop and the heaviest of black plastic framed eyeglasses ....

... last shot of the 1967 Blue Print is of the weirdos in the photography club ... one guy in shades holding something to do with a Nikon F, he looks to be wearing some white socks, Venetian loafers, white ocbd but his slacks are looking a bit mod ... next to him is a blond guy looking into the wrong end of the camera, which has a nice telephoto lens, he's in white short-sleeved buttondown shirt, dark leather belt, pale walk shorts, sockless in Weejuns ... classic summer look ... then a guy in collared full-zipper cardigan with racing stripes, ocbd, pale jeans .... floppy haired guy in untucked plain-collar shirt, highwater pale jeans, sockless in low-cut cream canvas Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor sneakers ... straight out of Revenge of the Nerds is a guy holding one camera and wearing another on a thin strap, he's in a white short-sleeved ocbd, very high-waisted dark worsted trousers, cool wide leather belt with large C-shaped brass buckle, possibly Hush Puppies .... last two guys wear a ringer t-shirt and a nice plaid short-sleeved ocbd .... a motorbike at the right, possibly a Honda Scrambler type ....
