/\  too much Beebs ... I'm out of town for another day and on a borrowed computer but I can't wait to make some notes on this bumper crop in the next day or two when I'm back home, but I will say that I really relate to these shots, which are definitive examples of two major styles and their interesting hybrid, which I wear to this day

although it's not humanly possible to wear as much madras today as those kids did back then

and they were definitely getting those white socks in bulk at the nice price, wearing them for a couple of days and then putting on a brand-new pair, slinging the old ones into laundry bags and not doing too much laundry themselves until they got home for vacations and breaks

one of my fave aspects of these '60s shots is of course the canvas sneakers, plenty of canvas deck shoes as well as the Converse All-Stars unapologetically in your face

overall good humor throughout, which is understandable when your family is so loaded and you've been guaranteed a spot at the head table, but still the cheer is palpable and we shouldn't be too jealous of these privileged youths enjoying their glory days

I've been picking up the kids in my family at their nice school this past week and every single one of them is wearing hoodies and sweatshirts, and everybody here is wearing sherpa fleece, to me it seems like I'm the only one in this big city who has worn an actual wool sweater this past chilly week

back to the Andover pics: the absence of running shoes is something that has impressed itself on me

I love the comfort of a running shoe but they do kind of mess up any kind of look that nods to the past
