Words I often heard during high school...
"Hey look guys... Here comes Mr. Rogers. Huh huh huh...."
Eggamuffin
Neighborhood of make believe. Who didn't imagine insurrectionist forces looming over the doomed, repressive regime of King Friday XIII? Daniel Striped Tiger and his Fifth Column await the signal...bwahahahahaha. Boots strike the pavement; shots ring out; a trolley burns on the tracks; the streets run with rivers of bourgeois blood.

All of a sudden I want a nice camel hair jacket.
Oh man...
I can't believe you've never heard of "The Beave"!! I grew up watching that show, My Three Sons, Gidget, Gilligan's Island, Dobie Gillis, I Dream of Jeannie, The Munsters, The Adams Family, Green Acres, Mr. Ed, Bewitched, Get Smart, Patty Duke, Andy Griffith Show, Dick Van Dyke, Beverly Hillbillies. Usually something good on offer in the clothes department in every episode. Most of these shows have been aired as reruns in the states probably since they originally went off the air. I usually start my mornings with some MeTv. They change up the lineup so there's usually interesting stuff on.
Wally Cleaver was the one that had the best youthful ivy clothes, with the button downs with the rear collar button and chinos with the really thin belt. Beaver was often in jeans and button down. Ward always looked great in his pleated pants, loop collar shirts, and he had great suits. June was always gorgeous and proper. I'm starting to sound like Stan.
Yeah, and I love the table too.
Leave it to Beaver was one of the more popular shows from the era.
Haha I love the Brit fascination of American culture here. Bob Keeshan had a nice chunky red shawl cardigan and used to dress in blazers and club collars often, before the 70s mutton chops and red suit. He was never an ivy guy though. I love Mr. Rogers too. I donate to PBS' pledge drive every year and received a DVD copy of "America's Favorite Neighbor" last year for my donation, haha.

MeTV is great and I used to record every episode of Route 66 and The Naked City on DVR when I first moved to SF.
Re. Mr. Rogers... talk about an enduring sense of style. That guy stuck to his formula from start to finish. Bravo!
Wynton Marsalis made an appearance on his show -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aYnI6v_Qw0
