Re: Clothing FOR SALE or SWAP

Thanks for putting me straight Hitman....I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT CREED WAS?!?!?

So it's a bit like Barbarella is it??

Instead of Essence of man...it's essence of some skank ho band??!?!

Well I never....

After due consideration...I'll have to pass Oli...and stick to a dash of English Leather behind my ears when I go out...

But thanks anyhoo for giving me this opportunity....

I once got a Creed CD for Christmas. My mom had asked a hick friend of mine what to get me. That friendship didn't last.

Belt is a large, 34-36 waist. It's unworn and about a week old.

Re: Clothing FOR SALE or SWAP

An extremely rare bit of swag to pass on to the forum...

A 1960's Haspel "Sir Perior" Wash n Wear pincord jacket made by Chipp, NYC!

It's a touch large in the shoulders for me and unfortunately, this jacket doesn't lend itself well to alterations. There are a few small flaws to note as well. The fabric along the shoulders and upper portion of the back of the jacket has faded slightly over the years adding a slight reddish tint to the grey (see last photo for details). There's also a slight bit of fading along the top edge of the collar; a roughly 1/4" x 1/8" slightly darker grey spot on the upper portion of the left lapel; and a roughly 1/4 x 1/8" faint milky white spot on the back of the jacket near the left shoulder. The tacking thread on the inside hem has unraveled in some areas but the hem still stays in place and this is the easiest fix in the world that any tailor could mend on the cheap. One of the cuff buttons on the left sleeve is missing too.

ASKING ONLY $40 USD.

Re: Clothing FOR SALE or SWAP

It would help to post measurements, I guess:

Size measures roughly 39R

Chest = 20" (armpit to armpit)
Length = 31" (bottom of the collar to hem)
Shoulder to shoulder = 18" (shoulder seam to shoulder seam)
Sleeve length = 24"

Hi Oliver,

Could be very interested depending on sizing and condition (and price).

I'm guessing it has all the usual Ivy details?

Re: Clothing FOR SALE or SWAP

It's got all the details, except that it's darted (not sure if that's a deal breaker for you) -

The lapel looks kind of crazy here because it's not properly pressed. I've stuck some pins in to give you an idea of the width in the next photo and will steam it out properly and upload some better pics if you'd like to seem 'em. It's a much narrower, mid century lapel.

https://www.etsy.com/imgproxy/1/8090896/icm_fullxfull.16914082.jpg

https://www.etsy.com/imgproxy/1/8090896/icm_fullxfull.16914097.jpg

The jacket's got a pretty hip, youthful, prep school vibe. If you dig it, I'll post measurements and take some better pics with the lapel properly steamed and rolled better. In the second pic above, I've laid out a brooks bros golden fleece 3/2 sack blazer's and the prep shop blazer's rolls side by side for comparison. The one on the right is the prep shop and the one of the left is brooks bros. They have slightly different shapes, but are pretty close is width. The brooks lapel is 3.5" at its widest point; the prep shop lapel is 3.75" at its widest point. It still looks odd because the lapels are sitting at the curve of the shoulder which really distorts their shape when photographed. Also worth noting that the shirt form that the blazer is dressed on is far too large for the piece. It certainly does look a mess in the photo. Its previous owner was obviously uninterested in rolling the lapel and had the blazer tended to accordingly by his cleaner. I forced the roll in my rush to snap a pic so it hasn't been done justice but you can still spot the diamond in the rough!

Thanks for the quick response Oliver. Not sure if it would be a  deal-breaker for me, though I'd definitely prefer undarted.

Unfortunately, your photos aren't showing up for some reason?

That's weird... try this one. I've got it fastened as a full three-button front, which I personally think looks even better with this jacket:

Here's the previous upload haphazardly rolled to the 3rd (though not properly pressed) -

Surprisingly very good quality for modern Brooks; collars are unlined and the linen fabric is exceptionally nice. I'm not partial to the extra slim cuts these days but they're ideal for hot and humid summer days. Airy and breathable with a lovely range of colors. They're just begging to be paired with a colorful madras or seersucker; would look great with a raw silk bowtie if that's your thing, otherwise unbuttoned or slim silk knit if the temperature's bearable.
