Rockabilly/Ivy footwear

I'm looking for a lace up that will go well with boardshirts and jeans. I normally just wear penny loafers in black with my 5ps but that doesnt work with jeans. I fancy something else to work with that greaser ivy look any ideas?

They're not too far off the hush puppies I like but can't seem to find in my size

I hear ya, a pair of vintage suede hush puppies would be tops for me but they remain elusive.

Well, as a reformed rockabillist, I would say two tone wingtips or saddlebucks are the ticket in a structured shoe.

Re: Rockabilly/Ivy footwear

Some substantial plain toe bluchers would probably fit the bill.  Something a little beat up perhaps?

The blusher mocs is another thing I wear at the mo makes it very much an outdoors look more than a greaser look.

Re: Rockabilly/Ivy footwear

I really don't like that sole on the Red Wings.  Not for a "postman" type shoe.  Looks kinda orthopedic.

White's Boots?

I'm also thinking black Paraboot Michael's for some reason.

Re: Rockabilly/Ivy footwear

I've got a pair of those and its not the look I'm after. Or at least it doesn't quite give it. I quite like the postman shoes but black is not going to work with blue jeans. Well not for me any how. I'll keep looking but thanks for all the input

Re: Rockabilly/Ivy footwear

I'm a big advocate of the oxford/board shirt/jeans look. It's a real laid-back look so I just avoid leather altogether. Maybe try a pair of sperry CVOs or vans authentics? Beefroll-less weejuns work pretty well too

Re: Rockabilly/Ivy footwear

Hell, even Converse All-Stars or PF Flyers.  They're a little more "greaser" than CVOs or vans.
