Typical, that's one less place to head to when I visit in September then?

That's a damn shame.
Another stop on my 'stations of the ivy cross' is gone when I visit NY.

I was kind of thinking along those lines too.  I was doubtful.

I think it was discussed on IS recently that you can see which way the Japanese owners are taking the business.
They formerly had branches in San Francisco, California and Princeton, New Jersey and now no Madison Avenue.
Without knowing i would guess there are numerous J Press stores and franchises in Japan.

As a side note the two geeks who designed the controversial York street  line (Ariel & Shimon Ovadia,) parted company with Press yesterday.

Re: J. Press has closed its store in New York

That' s interesting about York St AC.

Personally I can't imagine that J Press would go on record as saying that they will be re-opening in New York in 2015 if they had no intention of doing so, why would they? I really sympathise with David Wilder and those who have given years to the company only to be laid off, but you wouldn't expect to get an upbeat assessment from them.

I shall be alright for my J Press fix this year, as Mrs Woof and I are off to Washington in the autumn, but I really hope  they reopen in New York as trips there won't be the same without them.

It is helpful but after a long drive Woof may want to soak his feet in a basin of warm soapy water.
What say you to that WM? Does your warm southern welcome stretch to that and maybe a cookie ?

I warn you, if you have the slightest affinity for sugar, they will be like crack cocaine to you. I can vacuum up a dozen without taking a breath. Especially when they have teh "hot" sign on.

Re: J. Press has closed its store in New York

You have Krispy Kreme in ENGLAND?!!!  No way.  You've got to be kidding.

Anyone from TI coming to my place would get treated like royalty.  Sweet iced tea, bourbon, gin and tonic, scotch, jazz records, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, basement brothel... I mean, just name your pleasure and pick your poison.  We just need to make sure to take our shoes off before entering or Mrs. WM will make our time together very painful as she'll have us vacuuming and removing scuffs from the hardwoods the entire time.  Oh, and we should probably keep it quiet after 8:30, as she likes to have a peaceful bath and read.  But otherwise, it's Stompin' at the Savoy.  ... as long as my parents don't show up unannounced.
