I found a pair of LVC 505 1967, raw ones, today, didn't buy them, maybe I should have...
I'd pair them with army boots, wife beaters and a drill sergeant hat for a surprise inspection. And then show the naughty lady what the pingpong paddle really is for.
Oh, I forgot the white gloves. Wipe index finger along the top of a high cupboard, blow on your finger "You still see me? Call that cleaning? What? WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU."
SOOO, have to re-up this thread. How's the 1955 501s? I found that the 505s was some bit tight around the thighs, though it COULD be that I have some fatty thighs but I don't know, anyways, I saw that the '55 501s were a bit bigger in thigh-area, but are they TOO big?
I bought them in my actual size (30, 32) and couldn't even get them on they were so tight, never mind shrinkage in the wash! I had to return them. I have the same problem with Levis 510's but 511 are perfect form me.
Sancho - whereabouts are you based fella? anywhere you can see em first and try on?
And if you cold wash em/shower first and put em on straight away (yes...yer goolies won't know what's hit em...) I've always found shrinkage minimal - except to the auld fella of course....who as I mentioned... will be in a severe state of shock Sir...
I used to wear 55s...long before I was on here sadly so can't show any pics but didn't take to em personally..or the 47s which are "supposed" to be their most popular.. too slim..narrow at the bottom and the damn selvedge twist...but I'm a Tent Boy these days so these are issues that won't bother you I'd wager...
Probably not of interest to too many on here, but currently Levis has a sale40 code that can be applied to certain of the LVC line (519 bedford, 1975 519, a few styles of 1966 501 and 1967 505). So the end price is $60-90 depending. The code would not work for me online but I was able to do a phone order.

I am the only one thinking that the thighs are a bit too tight on the '67 505s? I don't know wheter to get a pair of 501's, IF so, what year?
Mine are ok but don't know if they have messed with the form, mine are at least 4 years old.
Just waiting for a pair of the 551z to arrive courtesy of WM - they are supposed to have a truer original cut.
Yeah, that's my main problem, the 501's are quite expensive. My choice is between the '55 501s and '66 501's and both costs $260, but we'll have to see.
my LVC551 ZXX have just arrived and the cut and fit is so much better than the current LVC505, same basic style, but with a better rise and fuller cut on the legs especially the thigh - good rise too for denim. Will measure later and list.
Thanks Lee for your help in getting these.
Just for everyones info,
Pegg and Sons have LVC 501s in a number of styles ( and some 551 zxx) in the sale at £129

I got a pair of the 1962 551Z from Cultizm in their sale, and because I'm in a VAT-exempt country and had a discount code they worked out to $150 CAD (about £75). However, while all the stores selling them claim these run true-to-size, they are actually vanity-sized. So I have a pair in 34/34 if anyone wants them for what I paid plus postage (probably around $20 - $25 CAD). The waist measures 36" and the rise is an excellent 12".
That's odd PPT, I bought the 31" and they are true to size?
