I think most would have been in 3 buttons, no?

Re: Tropical ivy

I think Cosgrove is just staying true to the Updated American suit - 2 button, more waist suppression, shape in the shoulders - as worn by JFK, which I believe was quite popular on Madison Avenue in the late fifties and early sixties.  Doggie, you're right, the 3 button was probably more ubiquitous by '68 - '69, but I think you still would have seen a fair number of 2 button numbers walking around.

The Turtles are/were great. I saw them out here a few times, originally with Zappa in The Mothers, then as Flo and Eddie a few times. Always spot on and very very smart, satirical and funny.

Just to be clear, I'm NOT defending the Mad Men costume department.

Re: Tropical ivy

Ken Cosgrove is definitely one of the more likeable characters from the Mad men Series, dressed better than most of them too IMO.

Re: Tropical ivy

I loved the series for maybe the first 3 - 4 seasons, but since then it's left me a little wanting.  Also Breaking Bad came along and tore me a new one.

Re: Tropical ivy

Breaking bad was brilliant it kept me riveted the whole way through. I kind of lost interest in Mad Men too after a while, don't think i'll bother with the new series. I'm looking forward to this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2647420/

Re: Tropical ivy

But the roomier hips on the pants would be right in line with the Updated American fit, if I'm not mistaken... which happens.  In any event, tropical ivy it ain't.
