That's interesting thanks Yuca. I'm glad your getting on okay, it's a big step so move somewhere so totally different. I'll look forward to your photos. I take it you have got involved in the local music scene?
I have been enjoying the music here however up to now I haven't got involved as in trying to DJ or doing any percussion. A shame perhaps and I plan to approach some venues regarding DJing at some point but right now I don't have much free time due to work so the free time I do have is spent enjoying the city, making friends, looking for my dream woman etc. Last night I met up with a new group of people and this being Cali we ended up dancing somewhere to some heavy salsa and crazy Afro-Colombian music from the Pacific coast featuring lots of marimba and 6/8 rhythms. (I have no idea whatsoever how to dance to the Pacific coast music but that's never stopped me.) As always the trusty Rancourts helped me drop some mambo flavour whilst the Brooks half sleeve cooled me down a little.

If anyone wants to get their Hemingway on... Brooks Brothers "Trailcloth" safari jacket...

^ I have a vintage Filson which is practically identical. Maybe a bit longer, but that could be the photo. It’s not Ivy much, but wore it yesterday in a look inspired by Peter Cook’s appearance on Parkinson in 1976. Can’t find a full length picture to link, so you’ll have look it up on YouTube to see his full outfit.
Vintage Filson safari jacket (minus the belt which is a bit OTT in my opinion)
White graphic Tee. (Cleveland Asian Festival 2016)
Sand colored 501s
Stan Smith’s.
Worked well on a pleasant 75F/ 24C day.
^ Yes indeed, sounds great and kudos for making a safari jacket work, they're great as long as you don't go into Roger Moore territory...
I actually think Cap!'s way (and Cook's) is the best - wear it open over a t-shirt with jeans, like an M65 jacket... If you wear it closed you look like a Hemingway wannabe or an extra from The Bridge On the River Kwai... But worn open over a t-shirt it's a cool piece of repurposing and reclamation...
Thanks fellas!
Stan - Hunter S Thompson, I like it! I knew I’d made a mistake by not wearing my white bucket had too. I thought it was just the strong sun, but clearly there were other influences at work.
BB - Yeah, it has to stay unbuttoned. Also why I never wear it with the belt. Far too close to pith-helmeted Chapland otherwise.

Inspired by Woof and Woolster, anyone any good suggestions for closed toe/ fisherman's sandals, can't run to the Paraboot price though!
