I remember why I was thinking about this now. It was to do with the rise and where the tie lands. You can see on the shot of the college guy the tie falls about 3 inches short of the waistband...I suppose simple answer is dont wear a tie. Unless you've acquired some WM grade nipple chaffing 5ps. Or do people think that looks alright? Im not sold on it..

I just went through the whole Tech Ivy thread and other than the shot above, which doesn't tell us anything, I don't see anyone in blazer and 5ps. Gives me something to look for going forward though. 5ps with cardigan or harrington / drizzler jackets was definitely everywhere though. But it seems that if they were going to don a blazer or sport coat they at least changed into chinos.
