Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I think most of those J. Press "casual jackets" are made by Keydge.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Darts don't bother me all that much if the fit is still decent, but I wouldn't go in for that jacket because of the crowded cuff buttons. It comes quite close to the mark though.

Even I'd have felt a tad overdressed wearing that at Clearwell caves .... if I'd had the willpower to drag myself away from the house ..... hmm

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I seriously cant get hung up over two buttons on the sleeve I know some people love it..but I always thought it looked obvious..but the problem I have with the Ralph above and some others, is they look distinctly Italian in style..and although I wouldnt say theyre hideous it does give a different look..the keydge itself looked more European and then to substitute that for something even more Euro doesnt seem the right direction in terms of achieving an ivy look..imo I know I own Ralph thats darted I made a point to go for the flap patch pockets, and the deeper chests..the patch pocket, high arm hole and fitted shorter jacket is really a different look..still a nice look mind

Im not saying dont wear what you want but I fear we could just be moving further and further away from the look.. this would all be very nice neo mod stuff and if people are interested in this stuff the Wardrobe could really do with a kick up the arse.. Id enjoy discussing it to

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I know, I know. It's RL, it's 'modern', it's not of the cannon. But right now it's 25 degrees C here, we're into autumn but it's humid as fuck and great wooly Pendleton or some such vintage just ain't gonna do it for me. I need a thin-as sport coat and I'm not in the south so seersucker or madras are not an option.
Feel free to move this to 'wardrobe' or some such, and turn the damn heat down!

Anyone on the fence about madras might want to do an image search for real-life pictures (i.e. not from catalogues). They are surprisingly wearable, I think of them as the summer equivalent of tweed jackets.

And anyone on the fence about a Keydge should just get one.
