RL is often spot-on, particularly on the chino front, but sadly, not with the latest lines. The jackets are often good too, but not always, I wouldn't risk unless I had tried them on.
I notice on the John Simons face book page that he's doing his own linen blazers in blue and natural
Anyone seen those in the flesh ?
they look quite similar to the keydge - around same price too
I've a feeling these are J*Keydge jobbies MM...
Am sure I tried on one last time... very nice & longer lengthwise..but v slim lapels which put me off....
If JS be doing their own too, I can only apologise Sir...the 15th have just steamed in and we're sitting back here having an oily to see if the pellet Mob want any more... so I can't give it my full attention right now...
MM- Theyre indeed keydge and I wouldve had one if theyd gone up to ly size as they did seem longer...they stop at a 46
Oh ok - my mistake - I thought they were so similar to a Keydge to be hardly worth doing from scratch under their own label
Will check them out next time I'm in

Joey, I'm a 40R and take a 52 Keydge. JS are very much active but their website is quite limited and there is usually a lot more in their shop. They are quite happy to deal with overseas customers, I think Oli has bought from them. They are very good to deal with on the phone, ask for Paul. They tend to have a selection of Keydge jackets but I've never seen the one in your link. If I can help any more feel free to PM me.
Definitely size up one.
The wash 'n wear Keydge summer suits look spot on, even the 3 piece one looks tasty!
Thanks for all the help, fellas. I imagine it's unlikely I'd save any money ordering through JS as opposed to directly from Keydge, but it's good to know they're still active! I feel Keydge jackets are worth the investment but I'm not interested in a solid-colored jacket. The plaid of the one I linked to isn't breathtaking, but I think I'll really enjoy it. Just need to sell a few more things to get the funds to buy it!
H&M has a new jacket that might work for those seeking Keydge on a budget. Darted and a bit cropped, but unstructured and machine washable:

I tried one on in-store. I took one size larger than my normal. I didn't pull the trigger, but I might snag one in khaki or navy when they go on sale. Though $60 is still way cheaper than Keydge. Fit is similar to the discontinued Uniqlo 3/2 linen jackets.
I'm going to order two Keydge jackets in the next day or so, unless any of you want to talk me out of it. Getting an all-cotton one in navy. I bet it'll see a lot of wear.

I love my navy cotton Keydge. It was the first one I bought. And the more i were the tan cotton/linen mix the more I love it rumpled beauty. You'll be please, I think, when you get them, Joey.
/\ I should probably proof read the post before submitting it. Absolutely woeful.
Hahaha it happens to the best of us! Thanks for the encouragement, Chief. I think I'll get both of the jackets I'm looking at (navy cotton and POW linen/cotton).
Secret tip for anyone else thinking about getting a Keydge soon: I contacted the Keydge headquarters earlier today and they told me there will be a 20% off private sale (you just need to be on the email list) next weekend.
I know most of the Keydge folk here shop at JS but I'm gonna take advantage of this sale and order from France.
Nice work, Joey. I was eyeballing the Prince of Wales check too. Did you contact them through their website?
I'm gonna get a wool jacket from them next. Will be very keen to hear from you how ordering direct from them goes.
For all you Blue Beards. This is a lot like my olive Keydge:

How do you pronounce "Keydge" anyway?
It's gotta be KEY-JUH, right? Thats how they say it in John Simons anyway. I am loving this:
http://www.jkeydge.com/en/men-s-winter-collection/138-ace-wool-cashmere-prince-of-wales.html
Hm, I've always said "Keej" but I don't trust myself. I don't know if there's even another Keydge jacket (let alone a dealer) within 1000 miles of me. Who are the American fans of Keydge on this site? Surely I'm not the only one. But I digress.
I thought maybe it might be "Key-edge" but I'm not keen on French pronunciation. If the JS guys say it "Kee-juh" then I guess I'll defer to that.
That is a gorgeous jacket, too, Chief. The pattern looks very "Old Money" to me, like in the 1980s-90s Ralph Lauren suits that all the rich folk in my home town (Kansas City) wore (and probably still wear). I mean that in a good way. Back in the day, I bet my dad had a Woolf Brothers sport coat with that kind of POW, except his would have been more 1980s Wall Street tailoring than 1960s TNSIL.
Wow, sorry for the nostalgia-fest.
Too bad that jacket is only offered in the "Ace" cut, which I gather is basically the same as the "Ivy" jacket, only without most of the Ivy details- still a three-button, but with double vents, welt pockets, four-button cuffs, and darts.
That's a hell of a price tag for a Keydge though!
Some non-Ivy things have caught my eye on the Keydge website before:
Thought this was a classy-looking topcoat, but cotton is an odd choice. I think it's not supposed to be an overcoat though: "To be worn like a jacket."
http://www.jkeydge.com/en/men-s-winter-collection/27-coat-redingote-molskin-navy.html
Linen vest:
http://www.jkeydge.com/en/waistcoat-/174-g5b-waistcoat-linen-navy.html
I easily could have talked myself into this suit if it had Ivy details, but alas, the "slack suits" on the website all come with "Ace" jackets rather than the "Ivy" model. Does JS carry Keydge suits with Ivy details?

How you just spelt it is what I was trying to write it out phonetically, in two syllables. KEEJ/KEY-JUH.
Love the nostalgia. Keep it coming.
Not every Ivy League jacket was single vented. Some even eschew Centre vented jackets, as jackets for boys. Side vents are for grown ups apparently. Like the two button cuff…an obvious "American" detail. However "The Ivy League Look" is the look, is the look… etc. I think the Ace has enough of the Ivy spirit in it. And If Irving Press says side vents and 2 button jackets are Ivy then who am I to disagree…

If that wool Ace is reduced goes on sale I will snap it up.
