Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Has anyone had any one of the new ones off JS with the longer fit and cuff detail?

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Bop, that reminds me of a query I had: the Keydge jackets distributed by JS and the ones rebranded for J Press- are they ever any different than the self-distributed Keydge jackets of any given season?

For example, there was a J Press branded Keydge that ended on Ebay last night (I was considering buying it if it relisted but alas, it was bid on and sold). It was marked a Euro 50, but the measurements look like it would've been my size. Whereas the recent Keydge jackets look to fit me at a 52. I know Keydge's sizing varies from year to year, so that may be the culprit.

Anyway. I know the website isn't updated as frequently as the brick and mortar, but this model (in a couple different colors) is the only Keydge on the JS website at the moment:
http://www.johnsimons.co.uk/j-keydge-cotton-linen-mix-ivy-slack-jacket-natural/

If that's the model you're referencing, Bop, I have one coming in the mail this week! That is to say, I have a cotton/linen jacket from Keydge's current summer collection coming in the mail this week. I'll be sure to post as much info as I can when it gets in.

In other news, I guess Keydge is the winner of the "Keydge vs Alternatives" thread? :-P

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

For UK Ivyists on a budget GAP outlet store Lakeside have 3 buttoned unlined jackets for £45 reduced to £31.50 in the sale. 100% cotton, no darts, 3 working buttons on cuff. I couldn't resist at that price. All jackets are khaki and not bad for the price. A good lightweight jacket for knocking about in.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

They still have a wiff of euro artisan..but the new ones had improved on the length which was one of my main gripes I still think its a lot for a jacket with lapped seams especially but where else at the moment can you get anything as close...I think I'll stick with the second hand Ralph's off eBay..but the keydge is defo improved

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

It's been Xmas in June!

Naturally, as soon as I get my jackets in the mail, there's a new sale at Keydge. 30% off on the new collection! In case any of you were already on the fence about something.

Not an unattractive proposition to those buying from outside the Euro zone.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Anyone interested in buying from the Keydge site should send me a PM: there's an ongoing referral program which I believe gives a 30euro voucher to both parties.

There was a point where the sizes almost shifted by one whole size

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

just out of interest Joey, what is the shoulder to shoulder measurement on the 52? And I'm guessing the collar to hem length is around 30/31 inch?

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Turrentine, the fits on my jackets are all slightly different despite their all being marked 52. The linen, which is from the current collection, measures 18.25" shoulder to shoulder and 31" BOC to hem. (I find this current model to be superior in terms of cut.)

I think the navy chino jacket is a year or two old (from the clearance section) and measures 18.25" in the shoulders and 30" BOC to hem.

The tan chino jacket I think is older than the navy but I'm not sure. It's also from the clearance section. It's the loosest fit with shoulders closer to 18.75" and 31.5" BOC to hem.
