Frankly, I detest that back pocket.

^ Agreed, the jacket would be a whole lot better without it.

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

Some hunting jackets have game pockets in the back, but what is that particular pocket for?

Standing in line, guy behind you taps your shoulder...  "Hey bro, could you hold my girlfriend's iPad in this little back pocket on your jacket?  Thanks"

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

A good solution for the dreaded pocket bulge I suppose, but open season for pick pockets. You wouldn't want to put anything valuable in there would you?

About the right size for a paperback. It's starting to grow on me...

Would a packed lunch fit in there?

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

I think this jacket is fookin supoib......
Tried it on at JS last week...and when I got nowhere there, I tried on one of these instead!!!....for the second time me thinky...as am sure I modelled a trial version a few months back...
I LOVES new stuff...everything doesn't have to smell of pee pee you know... and dressing in head to toe vintage is just way too saddo kids...go slap yerselves round the mush RIGHT NOW if you're offending today!!..and tell yer mitt THEE CAPTAIN SENT YOU!!

A splendid take on an old school staple...what more could one want?!?

Am sure I'll get round to one of these...if I can fit a box of Laughing Cow wedgies in the back pocket, then frankly I've already died and gone to heaven... didn't have any to hand when I popped by last week...Doh!..Bad Captain!!
It's lined and so a way more substantial jacket than the Grenfell jobbie of a few years back...
Also an inside pocket that would accommodate a phone apparently...or more Laughing Cow if you've just been on a jolly to Tesco with Yours Truly... was sealed so couldn't road test..

And let's face it... a bucket of steaming shite is preferable to Baracuta these days... Give yer wardrobe a facelift for crying out...

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

The front pockets are at the wrong angle to be useful outside golf.  I buy new stuff, but with plenty of good quality alternatives this didn't connect.  Why not a classic wind cheater rather than golf jacket?

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

For a windcheater I don't need pizzazz, I need it to look right and be durable.  There's loads around from USA brands like Gant or RL through Folk, Albam, Joseph Turner, Hackett, Kent & Curwen in the shop, Charles Tyrwhitt all having them at various times and staple high street companies like Austin Reed or even M&S.   A windcheater type jacket for me is for a quick trip to the local shops, nipping out to get my hair cut. Anything more and I'll wear a more substantial coat - mac, car coat etc.  The JS jacket is great quality I know, but like Grenfell it just seems too much for the utility I will put it to.   I've got a combination of Gant, Joseph Turner, Baracutta and Austin Reed, four windcheaters already.  They may not be JS but for what they are, they're fine.

Well each to their own indeed...

I'm actually the month of "June" next year in the 2015 Official Pizzazz Calendar so we'll just have to go our own paths here Sir..

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

I have old Drizzlers/Baracutas/McGregors btw that are more than adequate here in said area of apparel...but that's them and this is this....Summat different...
Last thing I bought in recent years was the Grenfell so of course I'm slightly biased here...
I'm a loyal JS customer too over the years and am happy to give them my custom over the high street...

Anyhoo - pizzazz is my new term kids... French Ponce Pizzazz......Sounds Dreamy, huh?!?!?

Gawd...I'll be back round AC's at this rate making a cauldron of Horlicks....

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

Tried one on, perfect fit and does look water resistant and probably fairly windproof- looks a very lightly coated sorta fabric. I like the back pocket , but no idea what to put in it. Sure it will look  great at the pitch and putt down the seafront?

The New York wing of the French Ponce Pizzazz Brigade shall meet tomorrow at Gem Spa for a delicious vanilla egg cream. Bring your baseball caps and ponce pizzazz windbreakers.

Re: JS1 zipper jacket

Gotta say I think it's rather excellent and think the back pocket gives it something extra. My Albam cagoul has the same back pocket detail from some years back. Never had an issue with it being pick pocketed, likewise with cycling shirts when having a coffee etc after a ride.

Not looking to buy at the minute mind as saving for my trip, but otherwise could have been tempted.
