I'm a special needs educator and I do temp gigs for (mostly) tech admin. I also work part-time in film production.
Some cool looking patrons!!
Coral Gables is a totally different world now!
Right now, I would step over my grandmother's dead body for a plate of hashbrowns and eggs from The Waffle House. With a big pork chop on the side.
SCATTEREDSMOTHEREDCOVERED!
I could chow down on that right about now also. Let's go! Their Cokes are always refreshing too. My good friend in high school developed a hard crush on this cute curly blonde Waffle waitress. She was deaf too, so it was hard to communicate with her and she spoke oddly. That just made her that much more endearing. And I could be wrong, but she may have also had a wonky eye. But she was very cute. We'd go by there just so he could see her and talk to her. She'd sit at our table and then the cook would yell at her to get back to work and "stop flirtin' with tha customers!" Good times...
Know what has six tits, five eyes and nineteen teeth?
The third shift at The Waffle House.
The fantastic pictures of the diners and the cars (and the menus !) - made me think of Stephen Kings' brilliant '11/22/63'- if anything is begging for a decent film/mini series, this is it. Very evocative descriptions of the clothes, cars and erm, burgers in the book - if done properly it would be the ultimate Ivy film ..... probably too much to hope for though
^
Haha. Maybe the only one I've ever seen. And she wasn't completely deaf of course, but quite deaf.
Well we know you'd be the front runner from a wardrobe perspective - but I have to say Eric Close is the guy I mentally pictured when I read the book. Apparently, it is still going ahead - Jonathan Demme was supposed to helming the project initially, but he and Stephen King disagreed about his 'treatment'. Now Bad Robot are said to be going ahead - just hope that whoever does it makes a better job than the adaptation of 'Under the dome'.
