The much-loved Uncle Sam from Byron.
It's an old-school, classic burger with American cheese, sliced pickle, American mustard and ketchup.

I only ever buy cheeseburgers, that way i can easily gauge one against the other - This is a Byron Burger Club exclusive - off-menu hamburger.

Local BBQ place with their Pit Boss Burger (burger featured was not the actual one I had)..burger meat was good, and the dirty mayo was good, everything else was average but I did enjoy my Cream Soda

Recent hamburgers...

Cheeseburgers at the Great White Hut in Glendale followed by a golden age cartoon matinee at the beautiful 1925 deco designed Alex Theatre:

The one and only! Hamburger steak was not good but the double-sized martini decanters make up for it!

Stan, we stayed just up the street at the Avalon; formerly The Beverly-Carlton where Marilyn shacked up with Henry Hathaway between '50-'52. It was designed by Alvin Lustig in '48:

Nope, La Dolce Vita - George Raft's joint!

An old rat pack hangout in the '60s. Still great!

Re: Film Noir Buff Hamburger Talk sub-forum

never been there, looks like my kind of old-school hang, I have recently regained my LA privileges, look forward to checking it out, thanks for the tip  ......

Matteo's was a place we used to go to a fair amount ....

we do have a place we're very loyal to but there's always room for another classic Italian-American place in my heart ...

Re: Film Noir Buff Hamburger Talk sub-forum

I've been to Matteo's, Madeo, La Scala (not the original location), etc. but none compare to La Dolce Vita for atmosphere. I like the food at Matteo's but like all the other places, it's been remodeled, modernized, homogenized; they've lost a lot of soul. I hardly consider them "Old L.A." anymore. La Dolce Vita is a winderful time capsule and the food is as good as ever - try it next time you're in L.A. and I'm sure it'll become a new (old) favorite!

I ordered a burger from a place that I yo to a lot which always did a good burger... it had recently gone under new management and someone thought it was a good idea to start putting butter in it them?

You don't need butter in a burger..it completely fucks up the taste..idiots.
