Am I the only one who clearly sees darts in that contempo chambray BB pictured?

Anyone know what the last photo is btw? Last I was in the market for a sack blazer from Brooks, they weren't doing the triple patch. I have a flannel BB 3-patch sack from the '70s and used to own an 1818 two-patch sack blazer but I haven't seen anything like that picture from Brooks in years.

No darts, just a crease in the cloth as a dart would end at the flap of the patch pocket... And I saw that same sort of triple patch pocket blazer in Rome. Very nice, but it was out of my budget. So I didn't even tried it on... But it seemed to be full canvas, just like in the old days.

Their darted jackets do not have flapped patch pockets. They look all Italian. The undarted have flaps. At least in the Rome store.

Wow, interesting Leer; do you remember the model?

I spent an entire afternoon at the Brooks flagship shop in San Francisco about three years ago and there wasn't a triple patch blazer to be found in store or otherwise. I ended up ordering an 1818 sack during their annual 25% sale and using a corporate discount.

No. It was on a puppet and I just looked at it and felt the cloth and tried to make out the canvassing. I was pretty surprised to see a triple patch sack blazer anyway. But as I didn't want to shell out €680,--... I didn't care dor the model smile

Ox, I've just added your blog post to my iPad's homescreen and dumped it in my "Japan folder" along with this list of store locations: http://www.mystore411.com/store/listing/2106/Japan/Brooks-Brothers-store-locations

I love that Madison blazer and I've got it locked on my radar!

If you guys don't hear from me in the new year, it's because the cable company's cancelled my internet service. This is gonna be an expensive trip! big_smile

Re: A history of the sack cut Keikari.com

You'd better not tell my wife about your suspician, Bop. yikes

Felt pretty bad yesterday, had some sort of allergic reaction, so no computet ayway as I lay in bed the whole day - What about you? :p wink

so... That store in Rome is some of the nicest stores I 'ever seen. Nice and helpfull staff, and everything well decorated. Not too much Ivy here, most including the staff looks like Polo RL, not bad - you can spend a bit of money and you can leave pretty well dressed looking very "Italo-Preppy-Ivy"...

But - to my surprise - quite alot of unlined collars on Malaysian shirts... They only get attractive at sales prices though. Nice shorts, decent chinos (mid rise), some 3/2 roll darted jackets with a good shoulderline (too expensive for me) and that triple patch pocket blazer that looked as fine as it gets... Nice shop, but no Ivy Mekka.

Allergic reaction doesn't sound good Leer you should go to the allergy clinic and get one of those tests done just to be on the safe side.

"Making clothes with this cut would be easier and faster than crafting dartful, body-conscious jackets, so factories do have an incentive for returning it, and the sack jackets is also nice and comfy to wear".
