That's part of the reason I've held off purchasing. I read somewhere else that the Filson small size is rather big.

Were you looking at the classic tin jacket? I've wondered if it's meant to be layered like a duffle for outdoorsman which would explain why it's so big and drapey. I kind of dig their wool packer coat with that big fluffy shawl. I wouldn't ever wear it enough to justify buying though!
