The Longevity of a Keydge Jacket

All of my Keydges that have jumper like drapes and material fabrics are starting to disintegrate now, they're clearly not a viable jacket to hand-on to the next generation of Ivyists.

I've always thought they were a bit of tat for what cost.

Indeed, it is these: the grey herringbone, the green herringbone and the navy blue wool one.

Mind you, I've got the navy one on today, but a few more months and it will be in tatters I tell you!

Re: The Longevity of a Keydge Jacket

I agree that a Keydge jacket is not for the long term. I bought mine unseen, except for a photo, and although I thought the craftsmanship good I found the quality of material used (100% wool) poor. I like the fact that Keydge are still making this type of jacket but they need to improve on  materials used.  I don't think I would buy another one in a hurry.

Perhaps if you don't sleep in them and drop food on them they might last?

I've had a one of the cotton jackets for about four years and it's come in for a lot a lot of summer wear including holidays, still looks good.

I don't see the cotton/cord ones giving up the ghost any time soon. I live in mine.

Re: The Longevity of a Keydge Jacket

Despite being of varying age my Keydges are all still in good nick but I do rotate them with my other Keydges and jackets quite often.

Re: The Longevity of a Keydge Jacket

Got to agree fella's my Cotton one gets better with age.
When new a Keydge is trying to be something it, isn't in my opinion.
With a bit of wear is starts to become more of a  toned down and casual jacket.

Another thing, i got mine slightly big for me as i think they look a bit poncey when worn fitted.
Any one else with me on that ?

Yep. No point in getting it skin-tight, one of the nicest things about these is the airiness.

Re: The Longevity of a Keydge Jacket

Only got the one - had it six months and the tags are still on it .... Like the style, but it has no substance and I fear I may well as just have bought a decent cardigan. I suspect that the cotton versions would be a tad more 'rugged'?

Re: The Longevity of a Keydge Jacket

Anyone have a problem with the cotton ones kinking? Mine seem to kink out all over the place, which is very annoying. Especially the pocket flaps and lapels won't behave, despite regular pressing and steaming. It puts me off wearing them half the time.
