Oliver's (excellent) picture got me thinking. How do you pull off (not literally) an overcoat over sweater and shirt, without looking like you left out the jacket?

My old Saab has a heater like a furnace which precludes wearing anything heavy if you are going more than a mile or two. But most cars have air con these days which has killed the car coat being worn as a car coat. Good for convertibles though, perhaps I should look at open top Saabs?

For some reason my parents are big fans of that show. I can see the resemblance, but Oliver's a much better looking man. I'd never mistake him for that actor.

I just stopped by the Saab house but it didn't appear anyone was home. I wanted to take a closer look but didn't want to poke around without anyone being there.

"Well, it was like this guy drove straight outta 1960. He comes up in this old pickup truck and gets out, and he looks like my grandfather.
