Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

I am thinking of getting some nice Olive five pocket cord's
Maybe Levi's any suggestions ?

I have always favored 505's but the rise really isn't there.

If you can stand the trawling - I would look for vintage mate. I've had good luck with vintage Levi's recently and there are lots about.

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

Also, if you want cheapies Matalan (whisper it) do quite good 5-pocket cords in a Levi's stylee, with no branding on them. 100% cotton, quite a decent rise, slim fitting.

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

They looked alright to me - but unfortunately only went down to a 32 waist, which is too big for me. If they'd had a 30, I'd have given them a whirl.

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

Scored a pair these LVC Gull Grey Cords on the bay - an inch wide in the waist but a belt will fix that.

Anyway if you are after a pair of 5 pockets, these have a 12" rise and a 7" hem so for me are the spot on cords.

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

Mr. Kinky, do you find that the measured waist corresponds to the tag size on these or is there the usual 1-2" difference?

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

^^^ Definitely size down - they are definitely 1-2" on the generous side on mine. Surprisingly good rise of ~13" and tapered and short fit.

edit: I went for 33x34 - I fear I am fatter than Tom above...

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

Yup, I got a 32 needed an inch smaller - but I got mine off eBay and not the link I posted. So couldn't swap them for the smaller size.

Re: Any five pocket cord's suggestions.

Is that the place in the arcade next to Rackhams? sad If so, never thought of it as my first port of call for a pair of cords ... Talking of Rackhams (House of Fraser) - they've got some nice Levi style cords in a sort of light chocolate-(ish) Brown - in the sale reduced from £55 - hope that helps?
