dainty white Keds worn by grown men ......
duck boots
Duck boots, white Keds, Pea coats, print shirts, tassel loafers ( I used to love them),Wranglers (are they Ivy?).
Now Dirty Bucks i like, white bucks i hate very very muchly.
^
I don't necessarily hate white bucks, but wouldn't wear them myself. Brown or dirty bucks are just fine by me.
Is any jean ivy?
I love bow ties and wear them more often than not. However, I'm not sure if they are really Ivy. Maybe more for the professor of the kids we look at in the photos rather than the kids themselves?
I have seen pictures (mostly in the uk) of Ivy lovers wearing cravats.
I think they look completely ridiculous.
Not that they're a staple Ivy item but Ascots and cravats make me cringe. I don't really like boat shoes either.
the pea coats were around in the '50s in all the surplus stores but they had no cachet on campus during the well-dressed days ... by the mid-'60s the army-navy surplus look started to be hipper as the students were dressing more casually and got into looking less privileged cf. Radical Chic .....
but to my mind the Sterlingwear and/or Schott type of pea coat is more American than British .....
I wore a pea type coat in school and it kept me very warm which I am still grateful for ...
not sure how we got to the peacoat but I like them. always did.
^ Ha ha great minds
...that nobody has defined it...TO MY SATISFACTION....!!!!!
Joe's more likely to call someone a "sissy" " for wearing tassel loafers. It's an American idiom for a homosexual man.
