Oregon pulled the swinging gate on Cal back in the late '70's. It's been a staple of their program ever since.

Pac 12 North looks to be a battle between Stanford and UW. One of those two will be the Pac 12 champ.

FSU got stomped. Ole Miss and Colorado exposed some shortcomings for Bama and Michigan. And yet, I am still not ready to say that Ohio State is a lock for the NC.

Peterson can flat out coach. I'm impressed with what he has done at UW.

I don't think you can really take any real info away on Bama or the Klan. They are just Bamas kryptonite. I mean, that game was so absurd it was comical. Highly entertaining for a third party observer I'm sure though

I don't think its a natty this year for the U, but they are good. Richt will get the talent in there too.

Hope they crush the Irish.

Bama almost gave me a stroke yesterday....

yes, yes, and haha yes, I was thinking about your health yesterday because you just couldn't put 'em away, they kept coming back, give 'em credit, but when you can't punch it in when you've got first and goal from the one then you can't be the champ .....

can't wait for the first real home game with my little bro, we have such a blast ... but the down side is that the Versailles concession is only open at Fins games, not at Canes games .....

Re: NCAA College Football

They definitely aren't the champ. They will always have those two years they beat Bama though... Kinda like A&M... Besides, they are over the SEC salary cap and the NCAA is on the prowl so their current level of success isn't gonna last.

No Versailles at Canes games? Travesty I say.

UW makes a strong statement, crushes The Farm. One game does not make a season, however. Let's see how the rest of the schedule plays out.

No time to bask in the glory. UW goes to North Berkeley next week; road game at Utah at the end of October. If it gets through these tests, only a bad loss to Wazzu at the end of the year stands in the way.

I am sold on UW's defense.

Re: NCAA College Football

ever want to do nothing but watch college football all day especially on a rainy day but then your girl wants to do a lot of other bullshit?  and then you miss your team winning to go 4-0 for the first time in years and you're lame even though you've got your priority straight?

did see some entertaining Tennessee-Georgia though, now watching Alabama-Kentucky, I like my SEC football  .........

Kentucky uniforms with checkerboard sleeves, when did that become their obviously racing-inspired thing?

just saw Alabama score two TDs in three minutes, they're on their way again .....

Man Tennessee totally should have lost that game. Pissed.

Bama Kentucky was closer than it should been, but not so close I didn't worry about missing the second half...

Re: NCAA College Football

agree ... I feel bad though for the kid who caught the nice pass and thought he was scoring a TD and at the one the Georgia DB punched the ball out and then Georgia recovered in the end zone ... remember that?  that was awesome .....

but that Hail Mary by Dobbs of Tennessee was awesome ... amazing game, they needed to review so many plays though ... was a drag .....

there are a number of teams I have old grudges against, but Georgia isn't one of them .....

Geez. The whining and gnashing of teeth in this state are loud and grating. All sorts of calls for the coaches' heads to be on the platter. I love it.

If Ralphie can get by $C this weekend, it will be more confirmation of the bizarro world in which we live.

College football is best when the predictions of the analysts and experts are shot to hell.

Re: NCAA College Football

was a very good football weekend dudes with the Canes running up the score and putting 51 points on Pitt and Kenyan Drake's magnificent TD return which put the Fins over the Jets, have had to keep a low profile as the Canes faded from #10 to unranked hard-lucksters and the Fins nearly trashed their year at the outset (but are turning it around on the ground now) so I needed this ... beating the Jets at home is our Super Bowl ... that's all it takes to have a great season down here ....

football games on the car radio are still a great way to do this stuff ... you can be listening to the Jets throw a backbreaking interception in the end zone near the end of the game while you're on the way to the taco stand, bonus!

Re: NCAA College Football

watching Miami at Virginia and the game so far is going well but there is this one commercial that is seriously driving me mad in a bad way, it's for the Toyota RAV4, there's an Italian guy singing "Slowly, slowly, slowly getting faster" and "counting 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, I love counting," it's for some rear-view camera that shows you what's going on behind you as you reverse the car .....

this intensely annoying thing actually makes me yearn for "chicken parm you taste so good" .....

on the other hand, I have been enjoying this Geico commercial featuring Ice T at a lemonade stand ... even though he has a bit of a short fuse with passers-by who are understandably surprised at seeing him chilling randomly at some kids' lemonade stand ....

Canes are comfortably in the lead and are taking the ball away from Virginia every other play, so the burn of that RAV4 commercial is less painful than it was an hour ago .....

/\ what a botheration!

watched USC's freshman QB, guy with the crazy red Wolverine/Kid 'n Play hair, he went to work on the Huskies ....

enjoyed seeing Pitt take Clemson down, remember the Canes beat hell out of Pitt two weeks ago and put 51 points on the board in the pouring rain ....

Kaaya, Kaaya ... for the rain is falling ....

Well done sir Stanshall.

Bama ground up a below average Auburn per expectations.

Off to the SEC championship and a beat down of the Gators.
