Now down to £24 in the sale. Limited sizes but you might, to quote Daft Punk, get lucky.
Blimey. What's the rise on the 34? Anyone?
11.5" rise on a pair of 35".
Well sterling work in the field as ever Mr Acton...
I quite enjoy these online chats you can have now with stores...
One of these days I'll actually ask them something about their products....
^ ha,
The online chat can be a definite plus,
if you want fishing gear from Orvis tho', you always get passed on to a fella on the helpline.
I like it best when they don't answer and I pretend to be all panicky and I've gotta find an answer today or IT'S GONNA BE TOO FACKIN LATE YOU USELESS TURD OF A HELPLINE.....
Excuse me....
Mmmm....Orvis could be tricky....
I need some new waders....but not for fishing you understand....but then I've said too much....
thanks to woofboxer for drawing attention in the first place & acton for the heads up re sale price thanks guys
^ big thanks to woof for flagging these up.
Mine arrived this morning and are a great fit (only hemming required for me), decent fabric and at current price i can get four pair for the price of a pair of Buzz Ricksons
Now back to the Orvis website to bag a few more, limited stock of 34, 36, 38, 40 are left.

I ordered 34/30, but they sent 34/32 and they're now outta 30 legs! Cloth is great and cut is good otherwise. Only issue is rise could be a little longer.
Another 30% off sale prices until tomorrow, so £19ish if they've got your size.
Will these do the job? My size and according to the seller the rise is 11".

Don't think those are the trim fits, I'd wait and get trim fits in a sale over here? Mine were still altered quite a bit even to an 8" hem?
Trim fit is a bit of a misnomer.
Quality fabric, but in no way trim of fit. Had to have mine taken in.
Luckily at that price it didn't matter, but it does make me wonder about the fit on the non trim fit ones!?
I had mine taken in on the thigh, knee and hem. Since I was having a fair bit of work done on other stuff at the time they called it £20 and the chinos were only £24, so 44 all in is still better than anything else out there?
JS' s current chinos are better in fit and design, although the materials not as heavyweight.
I just cuffed mine and they seemed to get to a nice fit with no need to have them altered. Funny how cuffs make a difference in fit when you have that weight at the bottom.
/\
True dat. They're a lot less trim than I'd usually wear, but as Colin said, just getting them cuffed makes a huge difference to the fit and even the feel of them.
Good work fellas...
STOP THE TAPER
STOP IT TODAY
Thee Flapperizerererer...
Yeah, I kinda figured. Are they TOO baggy though?
Each to their own Sancho.
Perhaps Acton or someone could post up an unaltered thigh width measurement, which might help you.
Sadly, don't have them to hand, but even before cuffing, I'd have never called them baggy, just a bit fuller than I was used to (which made my slimmer khakis seem a bit slim after wearing the orvis)
At that price I can just order them and see for myself. Would be easier actually.
