Measurements from a pair unaltered of 34W 32L
Hem 8.5"
Knee 10.5 "
Front rise 11.5"
Back rise 16.5"
I've experimented with two pair ( and still have two pair untouched thanks to the crazy price in the orvis sale):
one pair - an inch out the whole length of the leg, keeping the shape but a little trimmer the result is not far off the current JS offering.
other pair - tapering from the knee to loose an 1.5" at the hem , results look ok but maybe a little too 'hipster' for my taste.
I found there was just too much around the thigh (can't remember the measurement) so went for an inch out of the whole leg I think.
Great fabric though.
Orvis are doing the £25 off promotion again with code ORVSPR16 until the 24th.
For a more sta-prest style chino some may be interested in the wrinkle-free chinos. Trimmer in the top block than the ultimate chinos with a belly-button rise although you might want to taper from the knee http://www.orvis.co.uk/p/trim-fit-wrinkle-free-cotton-chinos/16hm
I see Orvis have added two new shades to the Trim Fits = British tan and Bone.

Are these vanity sized in the waist? If I order a 36 will I get something along the lines of a 38?
^ Thank you sir. I need some new chinos as I have expanded a bit and I don't see myself deflating any time soon
PSA... Contrary to what's been misreported elsewhere, Lands' End still offers hemming of its chinos (and other trousers) to inseams in 1/4-inch increments, with the option for cuffs.
(To clarify, my LE chinos and twills purchases are limited to the non-iron, traditional fit variety.)

Anyone know what the rise and hem in like on the standard ultimate khakis in a 34", thinking of getting a baggier pair of chinos. Have trim fits, which are OK despite rise and JSA which well after a year are still around 12, despite shrinkages. JSAs are not the best fabric though.
Want something with at least a 12" rise and probably around a 9" hem, trim fits cloth was very good, heavyweight khaki.
Spring must be here, Orvis have re stocked the trim fits.
New shades . slate & Stone. There is usuallly a deal in April isnt there ?

^ yep there's usually a 'spring clearout' event,
but it's worth checking back in the 'sale outlet' part of the Orvis website as they do turn up regularly over there regardless of the usual seasonal offers.
Had mine on yesterday as it happens. They are a very good pair of trousers, especially for the price in the sale...
Orvis are doing their £25 off £50 code again. ORSP17
