Re: Tony's shoes

Too cool! Do Sanders make all leather Playboys or just suede?

Re: Tony's shoes

Looks like a company called Hewetson did some crepe sole boots?  I'm poking around...

Re: Tony's shoes

I wish they didn't have that logo on the side though. They would be perfect.

Re: Tony's shoes

The logo is a real bummer.  I mean, who cares who made the dang shoes, right?

Re: Tony's shoes

RJ Colts are mention in the Quality of Crepes thread, plastic lined so your feet with sweat and I believe they are not actually a crepe soloe.

As I remember they were not rated highly.

Tom Weejun nails there quality thus...

Those GBX/RJ Colt plastic shoes are so bad.

Re: Tony's shoes

Non vintage options if you can find them-
Clarks Desert Earl
George Cox - Pop Boy
Beams+ (tho' I believe these are rebadged Cox Pop-Boys)
Delicious Junction  'Bullitt' boots
Adaptor Clothing 60s 'P.Boy' boot

Vintage versions worth searching out-
Trickers (2 and 3 eyelet versions from the early 70s)
Knapp Brothers ( they also produced a 'ripple' sole chukka)

Re: Tony's shoes

Also worth looking for are the MARK MCNAIRY NEW AMSTERDAM - SUEDE PLAYBOY CHUKKA.

If you find a pair they are made by Sanders but have the round toe, ridiculously expensive mind you!

Re: Tony's shoes

Not sure about the Adaptor ones either, guess they could be a beater shoe.

Forgot, Common People did some too a few years back called the Dylan, they split on the sole and the foxing often came away, I had a couple of pairs scored in tkmaxx - but they were not going out shoes!

Re: Tony's shoes

^ those 're-issue' Trickers Mudguards are made for Trickers by Sanders,
although they are/were an 'export only' product they have appeared at the Trickers 'flag-ship' store on Jermyn Street in London (priced at an eye-watering £349).
