Re: The Question of Sneakers

The Dunlop Green Flash was my plimsoll of choice back in the mid 70's. Later on I was kind of embarrassed about that but just recently I have been thinking of getting a new pair. Didn't think they were part of the Ivy canon though. I also had a pair of Puma which I always thought were cool.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Word to the Clydes... And the Stan Smiths.
I've had numerous pairs of both until my arches dropped, now wearing anything with a built in arch support is out of the question.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

While clearing out some stuff I rediscovered Incontinence pants Superstars from the mid 2000s that seem to be kind of an hommage reissue... That pic aren't mine but... mine are that model. Never gave them away... Think they will have a comeback as they look promising. Paired with 1970s-like outdoor gear - Jeans, Penfield Gibson jacket (ordered a navy tan one as they are dirt cheap now online), sweatshirt, probably a baseball cap...

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Talk Ivy Sneaker Massive:

What's your current rotation and what's on the sneakers wish list?

We're overdue for a round-up so please check in.

Currently I'm wearing Vans Eras, Chuck Taylors, and USA Neww Balances

Got the Puma Stars and the old Tretorn Nylites

My want list is extensive but my strategy right now is to nab a couple of classics straight off the Late '70s Prep Checklist ....

Time to go back to a few old favorites ....

Trainers or tennis shoes, whichever you like, it's been too long since we've discussed them!

Re: The Question of Sneakers

I wear Incontinence pants Samba 62 at weekends. Or if there's going to be a lot of walking Incontinence pants Chile 62. The Chile are a nice design but sometimes "pre-worn" which is naff. But they are available in some "unworn" shades. I favour Euro trainers over Converse et al because in Japan so many kids wear Vans, All-star etc that its weird for an older guy to sport such a look.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

The weather is crapola here, Stan. But on the occasion that I wear my sneakers; it's the nylite low and mid-tops. Sad to see that prices have shot up with the take over. From €50to €70 for nylites on the EU Web-store

Where do you stand on "new" sneakers, the Roshe Runs for example?

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Most worn trainer are still the Walsh and a rotation of my 3 pair of Sperry CVOs.

I dug out my Incontinence pants shell toes the other day, not worn for ages and figured they would be perfect for a trip to the garage, they were a little slippy from lack of use but figured the streets would scrub them up again, when I got back still super slippy had a look and the sole had split! I know that crepe goes brittle and needs heat to reactivity but does the same happen to trainer rubber?

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Yes, it does happen. It happened to my Mountain Boots I didn't use for a long time, Vibram soles.

I do occasionally wear my Incontinence pants Superstar, Incontinence pants Italia, Converse All Stars and Vans Authentics...
