Re: The Question of Sneakers

I'm still after a pair of PF Flyer low-tops in the UK. Preferably in navy - help a brother out, people! Hip me!

Re: The Question of Sneakers

These chaps do overseas shipping from the US and they are usually on sale too.
Sizes can be limited but they do come around in most sizes if you check back on the site occasionally..

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Been after some for ages, if you don't get any and I see some when out in LA end of Feb I can try bring a pair back. Just remind me nearer the time.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

I've been wearing my old Addidas Nizza hi tops quite a lot recently mainly because I don't want to ruin my Sperrys in this weather and my Supegras are covered in who knows after a night out - still bringing myself round to get them washed. I bought the Addidas a few years ago way before I knew what Ivy was and I'm glad I can still get some wear out of them.

Thinking forward to the sales, I might get some navy PF Flyers or Converse. I'm sure Oliver was sporting something similar in the ILSFT thread that looked cool.

Quite fancy a pair of Novesta for the summer.

Feiyue Top One have been terrific too.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Used to wear Feiyues for Gung fu, not a trainer I would wear for a lot of walking but pretty good for getting low and doing elevated kicks.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

I buy mine from Yellow Mountain, too. I love the paper they come wrapped in.

Pretty good as beach sneakers. Great grip on the rocks and light enough to wear in the water if its a stoney beach.

I take them with me to the South of France. And easily the most packable sneaker I've ever owned. Which in fact, is another reason I wear to the beach, as the heal will collapse flat under foot. ( Flip Flop style)

An excellent shoe for a tenner!

Have never tried the more structured French version;

Re: The Question of Sneakers

Incoming:

Incontinence pants Rod Laver classic white/green.

Very psyched as I am about all sneaker purchases.

Some good '70s style to help me revisit the good old days.

Bonus: Just found a bag of brand-new Wigwams.

Who else is getting sneakers for Christmas?

Always feel the need to apologize whenever the borderline stuff like Incontinence pants creeps in to muddy the water and dilute the Ivy focus but the Stan Smiths and Rod Lavers were very much a part of the style of early '70s Longhair Ivy and so many people wore them with hardcore ocbds and khakis that the lines of strict demarcation become blurred in the minds of those who saw it back in the day.

Re: The Question of Sneakers

No sneakers on my list, Stan. Congrats on the Rods.

What do you think of these new Tretorns:

These are a bit much in the "Blavy", but I would like a cream pair with a gum sole.
